With 234 entrants so far in today's Day 1c flight, the overall field has crested the 500 player plateau, with two more levels and the dinner break remaining for players to rebuy and enter today's final flight.

Sepiol Dons His Cape

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The big blind jammed for his last 8,400 into a pot of 7,500 on a {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board, and Daniel Sepiol went into the tank from under the gun.

After a minute, he made the call, and the big blind stood up, turning his {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} up on the felt. Sepiol turned over {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for just ace-high, and the big blind was eliminated.

"Look at you, Mister Hero!" a player at the table told Sepiol.

Beever's Turn to Dust an Opponent

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player got his last 8,000 in chips in from the small blind on a {7-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, and Benny Beever had him at risk in middle position.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Benny Beever: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Beever's pair and a straight draw were ahead, but looking to dodge the overs and flush draw of the small blind.

Schutten Gets Caught, Doubles Anyway

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Brek Schutten
Brek Schutten

Julius Reiner raised to 2,000 from middle position, and was called by the cutoff, as well as Kenneth Baime on the button. Brek Schutten three-bet shoved for 25,000 from the small blind, and Reiner four-bet jammed for 62,000, chasing out the cutoff and Baime.

"I'm gonna need some help," Schutten noted.

Brek Schutten: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Julius Reiner: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

"Such a good squeeze spot!" Reiner said about Schutten's shove.

Schutten got plenty of help when the {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave him a pair and a flush draw, and the {8-Clubs} turn locked the hand up for Schutten before the {a-Hearts} could fall on the river.

Gutierrez Jams on Ditrapani

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player raised to 1,600 from under the gun, and Justin Gutierrez three-bet to 6,000 from middle position. Nicola Ditrapani four-bet to 17,500 on the button, and action folded back to Gutierrez.

Gutierrez spent a minute in the tank before five-bet shoving for 100,000. Ditrapani, who had 78,500 behind, tanked for a few minutes, before saying, "I fold," and turning his {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} up on the felt. Gutierrez didn't show, and raked in the pot.

Morris Spins it Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Mark Morris, who was down to 2,000 on his last bullet just a few levels ago, checked an {8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} board from middle position, and next to act, Rich Alsup bet 5,500 into a pot of 15,000. Morris check-raised all in for 23,100, and Alsup called after some time in the tank.

Mark Morris: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Rich Alsup: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Morris needed to dodge a six to earn the double, and he did one better by filling up on the {7-Diamonds} river.

Big Slick Does the Trick Against Aces

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jerry Miller had an opponent at risk for his last 30,000 before the flop, but was in rough shape;

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Jerry Miller: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Miller's prospects for scoring the pot seemed dim, but the table gasped as the {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop delivered Miller Broadway and a huge lead. The {3-Hearts} turn and {8-Diamonds} river left Miller's straight as the nuts, and he scored the elimination.

Speedy Play Pays For Mangold

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Matt Shepsky raised to 2,100 on the button, and Jason Mangold called in the big blind.

Both players checked the {3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{k-Spades} flop, and Mangold quickly checked the {8-Diamonds} turn. Shepsky bet 1,800 and Mangold snap-called.

The {3-Hearts} fell on the river, and Mangold fired out 2,000. Shepsky raised to 5,500, and Mangold again snap-called.

"You're good," Shepsky said, tabling {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Mangold turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}, then said, "Sorry, I wasn't trying to slowroll."

"That was the opposite of a slowroll," Shepsky said, to a round of laughs from the table.
