"I Take It Back!" Ajayi Doubles Lai

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jason Johnson raised to 7,500 from under the gun and was called by Kane Lai in the hijack and Dapo Ajayi in the cutoff. The three went to a flop of [cjd7h] and Johnson checked to Lai, who bet 11,500. Ajayi called and Johnson folded.

Action went heads up to the turn {a-Diamonds} and Lai continued, firing another 22,000. Ajayi went into the tank and then announced he was all in, much like a recent hand the two played. This time, Lai immediately called.

"I take it back!" Ajayi said. "I take it back!" He then tabled {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. "Do I have any outs?"

Lai showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

"Okay, I have jacks," Ajayi consoled.

Ajayi did have two jacks left in the deck to score the knockout but would not hit either as the river fell clean and he was left paying off Lai for his last 70,000.

Morillo Takes It Down Preflop

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player raised to 7,500 from early position and was called by Bobby Sanoubane, who was on his direct left. Omar Morillo was next to act and went all in. Action folded back to Sanoubane, who asked for a count that was totaled to be 80,000.

Sanoubane thought for some time and then sent his cards to the muck.

Ajayi Gets a River Shove Through; Recent Eliminations

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dapo Ajayi
Dapo Ajayi

On the last hand of the previous level, there was about 58,000 in the middle from preflop action on a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Kane Lai checked from middle position to put action on Dapo Ajayi, who was in the hijack. Ajayi bet 15,000 and Lai called.

The turn came {3-Clubs} and action went check-check. Lai then slid out a bet of 45,000 on the river {a-Clubs}.

Ajayi then went into the tank for about two full minutes before announcing an all-in raise. Lai asked to have the 45,000 pulled in to see how much more he had to call. That number totaled 52,500, which sent Lai into the tank himself.

After about a minute of thought, Lai let his hand go and Ajayi raked in the pot.

During the hand, Greg Jennings knocked out Josh Williamson on an adjacent table. A few minutes prior, Will Givens was knocked out in a blind-on-blind situation against Bobby Sanoubane. These recent eliminations happened shortly after the fourth table broke, meaning they were the first two eliminations after the tournament reached three tables.

Twenty-eight now remain a few minutes into the penultimate level of the night.

Garshofsky Triples; Moon Busts

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Chris Moon opened to 18,000 from middle position and was called by Dapo Ajayi, who was on the button. Mitch Garshofsky then went all in from the small blind for 65,500 and Moon went all in over the top for 89,000.

Ajayi went into the tank and eventually called.

Mitch Garshofsky: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Chris Moon: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Dapo Ajayi: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out safe for Garshofsky, coming {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} to secure the triple. Ajayi covered Moon and won the remaining side pot, sending Moon to the rail while Garshofsky scored a triple and now finds himself with around 200,000 in chips.

Freedman Dusts It All Away

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Wendy Freedman
Wendy Freedman

Wendy Freedman had returned from the final break of the night only to watch her stack dissipate down to around 25,000. She then got the rest in preflop from the small blind and was called by Corey Williams, who was in the big blind.

Wendy Freedman: {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Corey Williams: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} to give Williams eights up, with his hand remaining best the whole way even prior to hitting on the river. Freedman found herself dry on chips as a result and is expected to be seen tomorrow on Day 1c with one last chance at advancing.
