McCrea Pushes Silva Off the Pot

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Daniel Silva raised to 1,800 total from the small blind after seeing three limpers and all three called, Terri McCrea included. The dealer spread out {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the flop, Silva bet 3,200 and only McCrea called to see the {6-Hearts} turn card.

Silva checked to McCrea who moved all of her chips into the middle without hesitation for a total of 11,300. Silva thought for a brief moment before he let his hand go, shipping the pot to McCrea.

Ear Finds a Profitable Spot

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The flop showed {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the pot contained about 7,500. Two players moved all in, one for 7,700 and the next for 13,400. Johnny Ear checked his cards a second time and then threw in the chips to call, putting both of his opponents at risk of elimination.

Opponent: {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Johnny Ear: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Ear was well ahead with his flopped wheel and the {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout did not change a thing as he scooped the pot, sending two opponents out.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is at the Daytona Beach Racing and Card Club to live report the $1,100 Main Event, but this is just one of several tournaments on the HPT Daytona Beach schedule. For the past week, the venue had played host to a series of side events, and we wanted to take a moment to recognize the lucky winners from those tournaments.

In Event #2: $165 No-Limit Hold’em Deep Stack, 109 runners created a $15,260 prize pool that was paid out to the top 13 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Thomas Poulton (10th - $382), Sonya Eggerton (11th - $343), Salvador Ramos (12th - $343), and Robert Sherrock (13th - $343).

The tournament came to an end when the top three players opted to chop. Erik Schmidt, who hails from Burlington, North Carolina, claimed the title and $3,225 in prize money while the Gary Bates took home $3,223 for second and Roger Stewart $2,555 for third.

Caputo Lands a Complete Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player opened in the middle position to 1,000 and Brandon Caputo three-bet to 3,200 in the hijack. The initial raiser called and the dealer fanned out {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} on the flop.

Action checked to Caputo, he bet 2,200 and his opponent called to see the {5-Diamonds} turn card. Action again checked to Caputo who bet 5,000 and his opponent check-raised to 13,000.

Caputo called and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board. The middle position player moved all in and Caputo snap-called for his remaining 27,000.

The player in middle position tabled {5-}{4-} for two pair but it was not good as Caputo then showed his {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, giving him a rivered flush and the pot for a complete double up.

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
David Prociak
David Prociak

David Prociak opened to 1,300 from middle position and found two callers to the {a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. Action checked around to a player in the hijack who bet 2,600 and Prociak check-called.

The {4-Hearts} peeled off on the turn and Prociak check-called a bet of 3,000 to see the {10-Spades} river card.

Both players checked the river and the hijack player showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for two pair. Prociak tabled {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a higher two pair and more than enough to take down the pot.
