Tables Turned as Mavritsakis Takes Huge Pot From Glaser

Level 28 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Panagiotis Mavritsakis
Panagiotis Mavritsakis

Panagiotis Mavritsakis raised from the hijack and Benny Glaser reraised to 380,000 chips. Mavritsakis made the call.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Mavritsakis checked and Glaser continued for 450,000, which Mavritsakis called.

The turn came the {a-Spades}. By this time, the pot was already well inflated. Mavritsakis checked and Glaser pushed out a stern bet of 1,000,000 in chips.

Mavritsakis took his time but nobody called the clock. This was a serious decision for Mavritsakis. Eventually, he pushed all in. Glaser quickly made the fold.

With that, the tables had turned. Mavritsakis chipped up to around 5,700,000 and Glaser's stack was reduced to around 2,500,000.

Sanchez Gets It Through on the Turn, Plays Nearly 100 Bigs

Level 28 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Vincent Sanchez
Vincent Sanchez

Vincent Sanchez and Austin Putnam Johnson were battling over a sizable pot of 780,000. The board read {6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Sanchez bet for 500,000 from early position.

Johnson was on the button and folded his hand on the four-straight board.

Sanchez is playing nearly six million and is one of the biggest stacks in the room at the moment.

Glaser Pulls It Back and Eliminates Harbinson

Level 28 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Darren Harbinson
Darren Harbinson

Darren Harbinson raised from under the gun to 125,000 and Benny Glaser reraised to 375,000 from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Glaser shoved all in for Harbinson's stack of around 1,200,000. Harbinson thought for a moment before throwing his hand on its back. He showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Glaser, however, had it this time. He flipped over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for pocket aces.

The turn came the {a-Hearts} to further improve Glaser's hand to a set of aces. The river was the {k-Spades} and Glaser scooped the pot of a couple of million. Harbinson was eliminated in 30th place for €7,900.

That brings Glaser back towards the top of the table as we move closer to the three table redraw.

Hlawenka Last To Take Home €7,900

Level 28 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Ankit Ahuja raised to 135,000 from under the gun and received a call from Jon Gomez Samperio in middle position. Heinrich Hlawenka was in the cutoff and saw the opportunity to jam his stack in the middle, worth 845,000.

The action folded back to Ahuja who pondered his options for a while before he made the call with the covering stack. Samperio got out of the way and the players were requested to show down.

Heinrich Hlawenka: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ankit Ahuja: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Hlawenka had a sweat when the flop came {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The {8-Hearts} turn already diminished his available outs and the {7-Clubs} turn sealed his fate.

Hlawenka finished 29th in the Irish Open Main Event.

Barbaros Flops Straight to Double Up Through Ahuja

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Eugeniu Barbaros
Eugeniu Barbaros

Action folded around to Eugeniu Barbaros, who shoved all in from the small blind for around 1,100,000 chips. Ankit Ahuja called in the big blind and players flipped their cards, with Barbaros at risk of elimination.

Eugeniu Barbaros: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Ankit Ahuja: {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Barbaros flopped the straight and said "Oh my God! Please hold!"

The turn came the {q-Spades} and the river was the {9-Spades}. Barbaros did hold and, much to his delight, doubled up.
