Groom Snaps It Off as Tsouloftas Takes Lead

Georgios Tsouloftas raised his A♦J♠ to 1,000,000 chips in the cutoff and Stephen Groom defended his big blind with 9♣5♣. The pair then checked through the 5♥8♦10♣ flop before Groom led out for 1,500,000 on the 9♦ turn.

Tsouloftas called with his overcards and straight draw, and the river came the Q♣. Groom reverted to checking, after which Tsouloftas made a bet of 2,300,000 with his rivered straight.

Groom immediately called with his two pair, which were sent into the muck as soon as Tsouloftas' hand was tabled.

Boyce Binks Set, Doubles Up

Mark Johnston raised to 1,100,000 in early position before Oliver Boyce jammed all in for 6,200,000 on the button. Vidmantas Beliauskas tanked for a while in the big blind before folding, and the action was back on Johnston.

Johnston also took his time to think it through but eventually tossed in a call to put Boyce at risk.

Boyce was in great shape to double up, and he did just so when he had Johnston drawing dead on the 3♥5♠Q♣K♣ turn. The inconsequential J♠ river completed the board and Boyce stacked up his newly acquired chips, leaving Johnston with 18 big blinds.

The flop fell a monotone 6♥2♥A♥, and Laurila checked to Tsouloftas. The latter made a bet the minimum bet of 500,000, which quickly got the better hand to fold.

Hiep Ninh limped in from early position with A♣Q♣ and Stephen Groom raised to 1,400,000 from the hijack with A♠4♥. Georgios Tsouloftas then three-bet to 3,800,000 in the big blind with A♦10♣, and the action was back on Ninh.

The chip leader back-raise four-bet to 8,000,000 chips, which quickly let Groom muck his hand. Tsouloftos eventually followed suit, and Ninh was kind enough to table his cards for all players to see.
