Dwan Doubles Dire Stack

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Christopher Nguyen made a raise to 24,000 in the cutoff. Jamie Dwan then put his last 56,000 in the middle on the button, which Nguyen called once it had folded back to him.

Christopher Nguyen: 108

The deck provided a sweat when Nguyen flopped a flush draw on JA3. The rest of the 6Q runout remained free of diamonds, however, seeing Dwan double up to just under 12 big blinds.

Molenaar Gets Lucky Triple, Eliminates Metaal; Start-of-Day Leader Out Before Money

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Michel Molenaar open-jammed his 164,000 chips from the hijack. Govert Metaal called all-in for 130,000 in the small blind, after which big blind Jamie Dwan also came along, covering both opponents.

Govert Metaal: 1010 All in
Michel Molenaar: A7 All in
Jamie Dwan: AQ

Molenaar was in dire shape, but flopped two pair on A7K for a gigantic lead. The 8 turn gave Metaal a flush draw, but it was not to be on the 2 river.

Molenaar raked in the big pot, eclipsing the average stack and eliminating Metaal. Dwan, meanwhile, was left with just under eight big blinds.

At the same time, Day 1 chipleader Mengshi Tian busted from the other table, falling to new chipleader Adrian Cazacu .

Jonathan Proudfoot
Jonathan Proudfoot

In early position, Jonathan Proudfoot was seen tossing his last T-5,000 chip into a pot of 120,000. The flop read 842, and he was called by Jorge Artiga-Pacheco in the cutoff and Klemens Roiter in the small blind.

Artiga-Pacheco and Roiter then checked the 8J runout through to showdown. Proudfoot tabled A6 for ace-high, besting the A3 of Artiga-Pacheco.

Roiter, however, had AQ for the best kicker, winning the pot and eliminating Proudfoot from the Super High Roller.
