Neeson Spikes the River

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The action began with Angela Rogan limping in early position, which tempted Stephen Neeson to follow suit, hoping to see a cheap flop from the small blind. Mikael Magnusson put an end to the fun in the big blind, though, raising to 2,400. Neither Rogan nor Neeson folded, and the three went to a flop.

The action checked through on the monotone 7910 flop, giving Neeson the green light to take over the betting lead on the K turn. His wager of 4,000 was enough to remove Magnusson from the pot, but it couldn't shake Rogan out.

The 8 river completed the board, and both players checked.

Neeson turned over J8 to show his bluff on the turn had paired up on the river. That was enough to claim the pot as Rogan flipped over 66.

Khalil Bests Muller's Big Slick

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Youssafi Khalil made a sizable raise to 2,700 under the gun. It folded to Bjorn Muller on the button, who upped the ante to 7,000. Khalil called to the 3J9 flop, which both players checked.

Khalil then bet 3,000 on the 10 turn. Muller tossed in a quick call, after which the 2 river was checked to showdown. Khalil tabled AJ for top pair, and Muller showed his AK before it was mucked.

"At least your bad beat story will be on PokerNews," Will Kassouf, also present at the table, said to Muller as the pot was dragged to Khalil.

Ranno Sootla
Ranno Sootla

Ranno Sootla opened to 1,700 from the gun, which picked up one caller before the action folded to Kimberly Durham in the big blind. Durham three-bet to 5,700 before seeing Sootla return in kind, four-betting to 12,700. The initial caller folded, but Durham called.

On a board of 743, Durham checked before folding when Sootla put her all in, for her remaining 13,500.

Hand Sends Out Accornero

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Six-way to the 426 flop, Luca Accornero checked from the small blind before Remus Matache bet 1,000 into the pot of 10,400 from the big blind. Fintan Hand was under the gun and raised to 5,000, after which the action folded back to Accornero.

Accornero called, prompting Matache to get out of the way. Hand sized up to 6,500 on the 7 turn, quickly calling when Accornero check-raised all in for 17,100.

Luca Accornero: 22 All in
Fintan Hand: 66

Hand had flopped the better set, and he won the pot when the 7 river did not bring the final deuce in the deck.

Matache, meanwhile, took the opportunity to loudly lament his fold with seven-six, which would have made a higher full house on the river.

Steltman Moving in the Right Direction

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Marcus Bonna opted to limp in under the gun before calling a raise to 2,600 by Branco Steltman, two seats to his left.

The rest of the table folded, and the two players went to a A98 flop. Steltman continued for 2,500, which Bonna called.

When the dealer added the 8 to the board, Bonna checked for a second time, but then folded when Steltman put a more substantial 11,000 into the middle.

Sheridan Shoves on Servais

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Daniel Sheridan opened to 2,200 in early position, which one player called before action folded to Maxime Servais in the big blind. Servais opted to raise to 10,200, which met immediate resistance when Sheridan moved all of his chips into the middle.

The third player wasted no time in folding, but Servais seemed to have a decision. The all-in had his remaining stack of roughly 40,000 covered. After some careful consideration, he opted to fold.

Sheridan flipped over his JJ, and Servais advised that he had folded pocket tens.

Fluereci on Piles as Finlay Bricks Combo Draw

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Robert Fluereci
Robert Fluereci

Robert Fluereci, who finished eighth in the Irish Open Main Event last year, had opened his button and called when Wayne Finlay flicked in a three-bet from the big blind.

Fluereci placed a continuation-bet on the 3K5 flop, which Fluereci called. Finlay seemed to slow down on the 4 turn, checking it over to Fluereci.

With the pot having grown to about 18,000, Fluereci took the initiative with a bet of 14,000. Finlay then moved all in for about 50,000, and Fluereci quickly called with the covering stack.

Wayne Finlay: A10 All in
Robert Fluereci: 54

Finlay needed to hit a flush or a straight to double up, but he made a pair on the A river instead. Fluereci's two pair remained best, and he shipped the massive pot to be among the leaders in the room.

Bitton Holds to Double

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

With 5,400 already in the pot, Gabriel Bitton manoeuvred his stack of 10,100 into the middle on a Q65 flop. Haraldur Petursson took some time to consider, but decided to put Bitton at risk and made the call.

Gabriel Bitton: KQ All in
Haraldur Petursson: 76

There was no help for Petursson as the J turn and 10 river completed the board, seeing Bitton secure a double up.
