Wilson Wins Late Flip

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Simon Wilson
Simon Wilson

Terence Ponsonby open-jammed for 94,000 chips from middle position, and the action folded to Simon Wilson in the hijack. Wilson asked for a count before going into the tank for a minute or two.

Eventually he rejammed for 127,000, receiving folds from all other players at the table.

Terence Ponsonby: 55
Simon Wilson: AJ

Wilson paired his jack on the 37J flop to take a big lead, and the 7 turn erased any runner-runner outs for Ponsonby. The Q river did not bring him a full house, and he headed towards the exit as Wilson chipped up to an above-average stack.

Yehong Yields in Final Level

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

David Costello had open-raised preflop from early position, after which Luo Yehong got his stack of roughly 50,000 chips in from the cutoff. The action folded back to Costello, who made the call to put Yehong at risk.

Luo Yehong: 88
David Costello: KJ

The 22Q flop was safe for Yehong, but the K turn paired Costello's king and he jumped into the lead. The 7 river sealed Yehong's fate, and he took his exit just before the end of Day 1c.

Hedley Scores Double Knockout

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Tommy O'Rourke had gone in preflop for 65,000 and Rory Ryan followed suit for 70,000. Andrew Hedley covered both players and looked them up.

Tommy O'Rourke: 1010
Rory Ryan: 1010
Andrew Hedley: KK

It was a dire situation for the at-risk players, as they played the same pair. A miracle was needed to give either pocket tens the victory, but they were left drawing dead after the 3A7 flop. The Q turn and K river completed the board while both players took their leave from Day 1c.

Watts Loses to Rafferty's "Nada"

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kyle Rafferty
Kyle Rafferty

Kyle Rafferty and Graeme Watts were heads up on a board of 354Q. There were 35,000 chips in the middle when Rafferty led out for 25,000. After some speech play Watts jammed his stack of 46,000 in the middle and a snap call followed from Rafferty, who had the covering stack.

Graeme Watts: AJ
Kyle Rafferty: 43

"Give me a two, you have nada!", Watts exclaimed.

Watts was indeed drawing to just four outs against the two pair of Rafferty, but his wheel did not come in on the 9 river.

"Okay, you did not have nada, you had two pair," Watts conceded as he headed towards the exit.

Meanwhile, Paul Monaghan and Gordon Ainsworth are also sitting on this table with above-average stacks.

Verbraeken Turns on O'Brien

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gerard O'Brien got his stack of 15,500 in the middle from early position and was called by Jan Verbraeken in the cutoff, who had the covering stack.

Gerard O'Brien: KQ
Jan Verbraeken: AQ

O'Brien stood up, but he flopped top pair on 4K10. The J saw Verbraeken turn Broadway, however, and O'Brien was left to just chop outs. The 10 river did not bring them, and he said his goodbyes to his former table mates.
