Verkhoturov Cements Top Spot

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
Sergei Verkhoturov
Sergei Verkhoturov

Robert Cowen opened to 7,000 and Ivan Levchenko called, as did Calogero Lupo in the cutoff. Sergei Verkhoturov three-bet the pot to 38,000 and Lupo was the only caller.

On a {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, Lupo check-called a bet worth 40,000 and quickly did so again for 55,000 on the {6-Spades} turn. The {10-Clubs} came on the river and Lupo checked once more. Verkhoturov bet 150,000 and Lupo called all in for fewer than that.

Verkhoturov turned over {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a full house and Lupo mucked {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Levchenko Back From Dust

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
Ivan Levchenko
Ivan Levchenko

Not long ago Ivan Levchenko was down to 8,000 and already out of the tournament area before he was informed he had chips left over. Fast forward he just doubled for 48,000 against Jakob Madsen when they got it in after a {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop.

Ivan Levchenko: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}
Jakob Madsen: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The {4-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river were a formality to let Levchenko double.

Trast Doubles Through Mokry

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
John Trast
John Trast

On a flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, John Trast ended up all in with the {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Karel Mokry looked him up with {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} for top two pair.

Trast improved on the {9-Diamonds} turn and the {6-Hearts} river secured his double for 80,500.

Kabrhel and Golebiewski Scoop Pots

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

On a completed board of {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Gustav Christensen checked and faced the shove of Marek Golebiewski for 48,000. Christensen was deep in the think tank and the clock was called on him, with a few seconds remaining he folded and Golebiewski triumphantly turned over {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} before raking in the pot.

One table over, Martin Kabrhel defended out of the blinds and check-called a bet of 10,000 by Greko Gregor on the {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Kabrhel bet the pot for 35,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn and Gregor folded with the words "open-ender but no flush draw."

Kurt Approaching Above 400k

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante

Yusuf Kurt has seen his stack rise steadily on the second bullet and he just scooped another pot without showdown against Jesper Hougaard. With 35,000 in the middle, Hougaard and Kurt opted to check the {q-Diamonds}{8-}{4-Clubs} flop and {4-Hearts} turn. Hougaard checked the {q-Clubs} river and folded when facing a bet of 20,000.

Verkhoturov in the Lead

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante

The field gets thinner as almost a dozen players hit the rail within the last hour and among those to depart were Andrej Desset, Irena Macesovic, Ondrej Franta, Stanislav Koleno and Maximilian Klostermeier. The new chip leader appears to be Sergei Verkhoturov with more than half a million in chips. His table previously featured Macesovic and Mauro Gustamacchia.

Eldabach No More

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
Dorel Eldabach
Dorel Eldabach

The hero just a few minutes ago, Dorel Eldabach has suddenly disappeared and his table broke with a new big stack heading for a different home in Ilyaz Dosikov. Jesper Hougaard was kind enough to provide the details as he was involved in the last hand of Eldabach.

According to Hougaard, Mark Berente raised first to act to 5,000 and was called three ways by Eldabach, Dosikov and Hougaard. On a {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, action checked to Eldabach and he bet 20,000. Only Dosikov called to see the {10-Spades} turn and Eldabach bet the pot, then called the shove of Dosikov with {6-Hearts}{6-}{5-}{3-Hearts} for an open-ended straight flush draw.

Dosikov had kings for top set and a blank {x-Spades} river brought no help for Eldabach.

Third Bullet for Norden

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Alexander Norden
Alexander Norden

Alexander Norden re-entered for the second time on Day 1a when his second bullet came to an end against Dorel Eldabach.

It all started with a raise to 4,000 by Jesper Hougaard and Norden three-bet to 15,000 on the button, which Eldabach in the small blind and Hougaard called. On the {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, only Eldabach check-called a bet of 10,000 by Norden and they checked the {5-Spades} turn.

Eldabach bet the {k-Hearts} river and Norden called all in to get shown the {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for tens full by Eldabach. Norden only held {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{x-}{x-} for an inferior full house and had to re-enter once more.
