Last Year's Winner Matias Knaapinen Off to a Good Start

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Matias Knaapinen
Matias Knaapinen

Last year, Matias Knaapinen won the Kings of Tallinn Main Event after agreeing to a three-way deal to bank €45,007.

He is off to a good start this tournament and is at the same table as Tonis Viik, who we believe is still in the chip lead.

The two battled it out in a recent hand where Viik three-bet the pot to 1,700 by two players including Knaapinen.

All three players checked after the flop came {10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Viik then led out after the {5-Clubs} appeared on the turn for 3,550 and got one player to fold before Knaapinen called.

The {J-Spades} completed the board on the river and both players checked. Viik turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for an overpair. Knaapinen grimaced before he slowly peeked at one of his cards. He eventually showed the table he had the {q-Hearts} and tossed his hand into the muck.

Despite this small setback, Knappinen's chip stack stood at around 53,000 after the hand while Viik is either in the chip lead or pretty close with 88,000.

Team OlyBet Pro Raigo Aasmaa Chipping Up

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Raigo Aasmaa
Raigo Aasmaa

Team OlyBet Pro Raigo Aasmaa has been quietly chipping up and has about 41,000 in chips. In a recent hand, he showed he knows how to read his opponents.

The pot was bloated to over 11,000 before a flop was dealt with Aasmaa and one of his opponents involved in a raising battle. However, the action slowed down with players checking on a {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop.

The duo both checked once again after the {J-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. However, all the checking stopped after the {10-Hearts} completing the board on the river. Aasmaa's opponent bet 3,300. The Team OlyBet pro went into the tank for a couple of minutes before he raised to 8,500.

Aasmaa's opponent couldn't get the rest of his chips in the pot fast enough. Aasmaa called and before he saw his opponent's cards said, "I bet we have the same hand."

Aasmaa smiled when he saw his prediction was correct with both players turning over pocket kings to chop the pot.

Tonis Viik 'Got Lucky' to Catapult into Chip Lead

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Tonis Viik
Tonis Viik

Estonia's Tonis Viik has the early chip lead in the tournament thanks to a hand that he shared afterward, "I got lucky."

The hand began with Viik opening from early position. He got two players to call before Tapio Ilmari Vihakas three-bet to 1,800. Viik and his two opponents called.

Vikhakas bet 5,000 into a pot of a little more than 7,000 on a {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop. Viik called before the other two players folded.

The action got even bigger after the {2-Spades} appeared on the turn with Vikhakas declaring himself all-in for 13,700. Viik called and turned over {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, which gave him a flush-draw and a gut-shot straight draw.

Vikhakas turned over pocket aces and was about a 3:1 favorite to win the hand. However, luck wasn't on his side after the {8-Hearts} spiked the river to give his opponent a flush.

Viik's stack soared to 85,000 to put him in the early chip lead while Vikhakas temporarily hit the rail before he re-entered.
