Alakorva Onto Bullet #3

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Last year, Veli-Pekka Alakorva held the "honor" or being the first player to reenter. He didn't get that honor today but he is the first player to be onto his third bullet in the tournament.

His second bullet went as follows. He opened to 700 from early position before Steven Carl Arsnes three-bet to 2,100 from middle position. Mikael Gronvik cold-called from the button before Alakorva jammed for around 30,000.

Arsnes made the call and Gronvik folded.

Veli-Pekka Alakorva: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Steven Carl Arsnes: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts} came on the flop and Alakorva was in for a world of hurt shouting for cards in Finnish. No help came for Alakorva as the {k-Clubs} came on the turn and the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Straight after the hand, Alakorva headed to the tournament desk to buy-in for the third time this tournament.

Karkkainen Outflops Kaiukonis' Kings

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jari Tapio Karkkainen opened from late position before calling a three-bet by Andrius Kaziukonis from the small blind to create a pot of over 6,000 before the flop.

Kaziukonis check-called a bet of 2,500 on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. Kaziukonis checked again after the {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn.

Karkkainen bet 5,000 and Kaziukonis paused for about a minute.

"I think you have me," said Kaziukonis.

He folded and showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Karkkainen turned the {a-Clubs} over to show his opponent he was indeed beat before also turning over the {k-Hearts} which meant if Kaziukonis continued he would have been drawing to one out.

Sebastian Wahl
Sebastian Wahl

Sebastian Wahl hit the rail before the first break. The action was recapped for us after we saw his seat was open.

Wahl was all-in for about 25,000 with a flush-draw on the turn into the two pair held by Mart Tammoja. The river did not complete his flush and Wahl was down to crumbs. The rest of his chips unsuccessfully got in the middle the next hand.

Vist Avoids Hatipoglu's Quad Kings

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante
Carmen-Elina Vist
Carmen-Elina Vist

The action began with Bahadir Hatipoglu limping from early position. A player in middle position raised to 400 before Carmen-Elina Vist called. Hatipoglu reraised to 1,100 and got calls from the original raiser and Vist.

All three players checked the {k-}{k-}{5-} flop. The action picked up a bit after the {3-} appeared on the turn. Hatipoglu opened for 1,100. One player folded before Vist raised to 2,700. Hatipoglu three-bet to 10,000 and Vist found a fold.

Hatipoglu turned over {k-}{k-} for the nuts with quads, much to the relief of Vist. Despite losing the hand, Vist still has more than the 30,000 starting stack with 32,000 in chips.
