Lazauninkas Building His Stack

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Gytis Lazauninkas has been building his stack throughout the day and now sits on around 250,000 in chips.

In a recent hand, he opened from early position with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} before Kari Gronthal three-bet jammed for around 35,000 with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Lazauninkas made the call and the players flipped over their cards.

Gronthal was eliminated after he whiffed on the {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board and Lazauninkas began to pile up his newly found chips.

Haller Soars

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Christel Haller
Christel Haller

Christel Haller started today with one of the shortest stacks. That is by far no longer the case as she now has a stack of 225,000 in chips.

Most of her chips came recently in the following hand. She opened to 5,000 with {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} before another player three-bet jammed for 32,000 with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. A third player flat-called with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} before Haller four-bet jammed for 89,000. Her other opponent had her covered and made the call.

The {4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} came on the flop to not only have Haller feeling comfortable but also adding a flush draw. Her opponents were running dead after the {3-Hearts} came on the turn and she won a huge pot after the {9-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Payouts have not yet been released but it was just announced that 80 players will get paid at least a min-cash.

While it is likely the money bubble is reached today, it is also possible that it could be early tomorrow.

Liik Eliminates Kosmaty

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Joonas Liik opened for 5,000 from the small blind before Jaroslaw Kosmaty three-bet jammed for about 35,000 from the big blind.

Liik made the call and the dealer asked players to turn over their cards.

Jaroslaw Kosmaty: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Joonas Liik: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Kosmaty was eliminated by Liik after he failed to hit a piece of the {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} board.

Toikkanen Among the Chip Leaders

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Teemu Toikkanen sits on a stack of around 275,000 in chips and is among the chip leaders in the room.

In a recent hand, he raised to 4,500 with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} from late position before Pauls Vebers three-bet jammed for about 40,000 with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Toikkanen made the quick call and Vebers was flipping for his tournament life.

Vebers blanked the {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Spades} board and Toikkanen took out his opponent with a set of ladies.
