Here Comes Day 3
Yesterday saw Day 2's field whittled from the returning 183 down to just 36. As it always is along the Latin American Poker Tour, the bubble was a very tense and exciting one. Rudy Blondeau seized this as an opportunity to pick up chips and build his stack. Matthias Habernig and Sander Aalders did the same on the bubble and all built some nice stacks while the shorter stacks all held on depserately hoping to cash.
Eventually, Alexandre Fracari succumbed in 49th place -- the last place to finish without being paid. With all the the remaining 48 players in the money, the pace of play picked up from there. As the chips began to fly, Blondeau was able to keep himself in the lead. He finished out the day as the largest stack in the room at 536,500. Andre De Oliveira Sa wasn't too far behind, bagging up 511,000 himself.
Out of all the Team PokerStars members, only Jorge Arias from Team Online remains. He outlasted all of his teammates and finished with 113,000 in chips. Leo Fernandez from Team Pro Argentina was the only team member to finish in the money.
Play resumes today at noon local time with the final 36 all still in contention for the title. Top prize is worth $247,441 and you can bet every last one of our competitors have their eyes set on it! We'll go from 36 down to the final right today, so be sure to stick around for the most amazing poker action south of the Equator.
