Welcome back for Day 3 of the 2011 PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour São Paulo Main Event. When the chip bags came out last night, Alex Manzano of Chile used a late surge of flopped sets to overtake João Bauer and Leandro Csome for the chip lead. Each player will start today as the chip leader of his respective table, with an eye on making the final table that will play out tomorrow.
Today promises to be a shorter day than yesterday or Thursday. We anticipate that it will take six to eight hours of play to trim two full tables out of the remaining field. No matter how long it takes, PokerNews will provide live updates throughout the day. Keep your browser pointed right here -- cards will be in the air in 30 minutes.
Level: 19
Blinds: 5,000/10,000

We're picking up where we left off last night, mid-stream in Level 19.
Alex Manzano picked up right where he left off last night. On one of the first hands at his table, Manzano was sitting with the button for a hand on which Eduardo Costa open-shoved for 104,000. Manzano called with , a hand behind Costa's . Neither player betrayed much emotion at a flop of . Costa was down to the river after the turn, but he binked one of his ten outs with the to improve to a set of jacks. He now has 231,000.
On Table 1, Rodrigo Portaleoni shoved his big blind for 95,000 after Gerardo Godinez opened the button to 22,000. Godinez, clad all in black for Day 3, snap-called with . He was up against Portaleoni's . Portaleoni gave a short fist pump after a board of gave him the winning hand.
From the cutoff seat, Gerardo Godinez raised to 22,000. Amos Ben Haim made the call from the big blind and the flop came down . Both players checked and off to fourth street they went.
The dealer placed the out on the turn, completing a possible flush draw. Ben Haim checked and Godinez bet 22,000, the same amount he had raised to preflop. Ben Haim made the call.
The completed the board on the river and both players quickly checked. Ben Haim turned over the for a pair of aces, playing the board as his kicker. Godinez held the for the same hand and the two chopped up the pot.
Omar Miete seemed to sense his predicament after his under-the-gun shove for 102,000 was over-shoved by Cesar Plaza for 185,000. When it came time to showdown, Miete stood up, put on his coat and slung his bag over his shoulder before opening . Plaza showed and yelled, "Vamo!" after the board came clean, . Miete is the first casualty of the day.
Table 3 is being played out on the stage, a restricted area for all but the players and the television crew. As a result we're not able to get much of the action that is taking place up there. We did notice Juan Parra recently leave the table. Apparently he was eliminated by Humberto Brenes.
