Humberto Brenes managed to battle back after a staggering first level to this tournament. However, when we last caught up with him things were not going too well.
Action folded around to Brenes who raised to 500 from the cutoff and received a call from both blinds. The flop came and the blinds checked. Brenes continued out with a bet of 1,000 and the small blind called. The big blind, however, pushed out a raise and after some pondering, Brenes reluctantly mucked his hand. The small blind got out of the way as well and the player in the big blind picked up the pot.
Brenes is now sitting at about 6,000.
