Van Veen Takes From Mercuur

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Kevin van Veen
Kevin van Veen

Kevin van Veen is chipping up and he is one of the bigger stacks in the room. He was kind enough to elaborate on how he got all those chips.

''It was 2,500/5,000 and Vos Mercuur opened from early position to 13,000. I called in the big blind and the board was {k-}{q-}{j-} rainbow with one spade on it. I checked and he bet 16,000. I raised to 55,000 and he called. The turn was the {5-Spades} and I bet 80,000. He called again and the river was the {q-Spades}. I jammed for effectively 180,000 and he folded. I just showed the {10-Clubs}.''

Damiano Aloi
Damiano Aloi

Damiano 'DAMMO_23' Aloi from Adelaide, Australia, raised to 13,000 from middle position and it folded to Jeffrey Reardon in the big blind. He called to see the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop being dealt.

Reardon checked and Aloi didn't even have his 16,500 bet in the middle when Reardon let go of his hand.

Aloi showed {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Reardon said ''You had me beat'' before the two laughed it off and Aloi stacked his chips.

Jordan Eliminated

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dale Jordan doubled up early and he had a great start of the tournament but it is all over.

''I jammed ace-jack on an ace-high flop and I was called by jack-ten of hearts. There was only one heart on the flop but both the turn and river were a heart.''

Jordan was eliminated before the money was reached. There are 137 players remaining and another 30 players will go home empty-handed before the last 107 have locked up £320.

Ben Martin
Ben Martin

Ben 'TheBenMartin98' Martin was just eliminated from the tournament after being on a short stack since the start of the day. He was down to just nine big blinds in the small blind and he wanted to isolate on a smaller shove. The player in the big blind called with pocket jacks and Martin his ace-jack was in bad shape. The smallest stack in the hand had pocket sixes.

There was no help for Martin and he was eliminated from the tournament before the money was reached.

Qualifier Blank Doubled Up

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Rocco Blank is a personal friend of Lex Veldhuis and he's from Vlissingen as well. Blank wanted to share his 24-month sub on Twitch on the day a qualifier was running on PokerStars and Veldhuis told Blank on stream he had to play it.

Blank fired three bullets, but he eventually played on the final table with two packages to be given away. Veldhuis was railing the final table on stream and he admitted it was tough to root for his buddy, while also having community members at the satellite final table. Blank ended up winning a package and here he is in London.

He made Day 2 of the Main Event with a stack of 131,500 but he is already up to 300,000 after flopping two pair. Blank saw the {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop holding {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} from the button and when he shoved all in he was called by {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

The {9-Spades} turn gave Blank a sweat, but the {q-Spades} river was safe for him as he doubled up.
