Escriba Doubles With Set Postflop
Level 6
: Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Jordi Escriba raised to 1,100 from middle position, Jonas Hackenberg three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind and Escriba called.
The flop came K♦3♦J♥ and Hackenberg continued for 2,300, which Escriba called. The turn was the 8♣. Hackenberg checked, Escriba took the lead with a bet of 6,000 and Hackenberg called.
The river was the 4♣. Hackenberg checked and Escriba moved all in for 15,500 with a very similar stack size to his opponent. Hackenberg looked visibly distressed but then put his chips in the middle to make the call.
Escriba quickly flipped over 8♦8♠ for a set of eights. Hackenberg turned A♥Q♥ for ace high, a hero call gone wrong. He left the table and Escriba scooped a double up.
