Walthaus Doubles

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Jorn Walthaus opened under the gun for 700 and received a call, before well known Russian player Alexander Orlov squeezed to 2,600. Action folded to Walthaus who made the call, and so did the third involved player.

Both Walthaus and the other player checked to Orlov on {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Orlov continued his pre flop aggression with a 4,100 bet, and just Walthaus made the call. Walthaus check called another 11,000 once the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn.

The river came the {K-Clubs} and Walthaus pushed all in for 20,825. Orlov tossed in a single 5,000 chip to indicate the call, but he had to add 15,825 after Walthaus tabled {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a fullhouse.

Chop It Up!

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Jorn Walthaus
Jorn Walthaus

The German player in the cutoff opened before the flop, and Jorn Walthaus in the big blind was the sole caller.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Walthaus checked to his opponent. The German player made a continuation bet and Walthaus raised to 1,500. Walthaus' opponent raised to 3,600 and Walthaus three bet to 8,500. The call followed and the dealer got busy dealing a turn: {10-Diamonds}.

Walthaus pushed 30,000 worth of 5,000 chips forward. His opponent had to make the decision for his tournament life as he only had 22,250 left. After about a minute or so he made the call.

Walthaus proudly showed his {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, but would soon find out he was about to chop the pot. His opponent had {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and the river {Q-Spades} was of no importance.

Good Start for Walthaus

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It isn't the most exciting hand we ever reported on, but the small ones count as well.

Jorn Walthaus just raised it up to 500 before the flop and received two calls. Both players instantly folded though after Walthaus made a 900 continuation bet on {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Walthaus, who's seated at the same table as Sergey Rybachenko, is up to around 38,000.

Gueorguiev Wins Remarkable Pot

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Atanas Gueorguiev
Atanas Gueorguiev

Someone in front of Atanas Gueorguiev opened and the number two of the all time Bulgarian money list made the call. The player on the button squeezed to 1,600 and the initial-raiser made the call. Gueorguiev now resqueezed to 5,600 and the player on the button thought about it for quite some time before calling. The initial raiser folded.

Gueorguiev made a quick 4,300 bet on {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and his opponent on the button made the call. The turn came the {10-Diamonds} and Gueorguiev instantly checked. The player on the button thought about it for a little bit, before betting 8,700. Before the 8,700 was in the middle, Gueorguiev had allready pushed all in for 26,300 as instantly as possible.

The button thought about it for a good two minutes before someone called the clock on him. The floor came over and informed the player he had one minute left to act. After about ten seconds the button folded, and Gueorguiev started towering his chips again.
