Shkolnik Hits Set of Aces Over Set of Kings

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Set of Aces over Set of Kings
Set of Aces over Set of Kings

There was a reaction at a table as the last hand before dinner break was happening.

The flop read {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Nick Shkolnik made a big bet and Genc Govori moved all in from the button, Shkolnik called.

It was terrible luck for Shkolnik as he held the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} but it was no good against the {k-}{k-} set of Govori.

The turn was the {10-Spades} but it was the river that caused the reaction as the {a-Diamonds} binked off to send Govori to the rail while giving Shkolnik a massive pot right.

Kweskin Doubles Through Call

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Aaron Kweskin made a bet on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and was called by [Removed:252].

The dealer brought the chips into the middle and then put the {10-Clubs} on the turn. Kweskin jammed all in for 620,000 into a pot of about 350,000.

Patel called after about 20 seconds of thought.

Kweskin had the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} while Patel had the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Kweskin grabbed a double up.

Patel Gets It Back

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

No sooner had [Removed:252] lost a lot of chips, he gained them all back when action was picked up on the river on a board that read {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

Patel had moved all in for about 505,000. Stephen Bartlett had the decision on him and thought for several moments before calling.

Patel showed the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for trips which was the winner as Bartlett had the {q-}{6-}.

McEvoy Calls at the Buzzer

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The flop read {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

Anthony Reynolds jammed into two players. The first player folded and the decision was on Aaron McEvoy who thought for a while.

Eventually Reynolds called the clock and the floor came over to administer the count. The countdown from 30 seconds was nearly complete before McEvoy put the chips in with 2 seconds left and turned over the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Reynolds was a bit perturbed by the king and turned over the {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The board ran out {4-Spades} and {4-Diamonds} for the double for McEvoy.

"I thought you had an ace, thinking that long!" said Reynolds.

"If you have a king my king my kicker is rarely good" said McEvoy in response as both players discussed their thoughts on the hand out loud.
