Harry Sandford opened to 16,000 under the gun, and Uwe Behrendt defended the big blind.
Behrendt led out three streets with a minimum bet of 8,000 on the J♥9♥7♣4♣10♦ runout. On the river, Sandord raised to 85,000. After around two minutes of deliberation, Behrendt called.
Sandford said "You're good" as he showed A♥Q♣ for ace-high, while Behrendt took the pot with K♥9♠ for a pair of nines.
“Wow, I thought you had it, king-queen” said table mate Jason Shellum. “I gave every indication of having it, nice call”, replied Sandford.
Sandford was left with crumbs and forced all-in from the big blind on the next hand. Mihai Norocel moved all in from under the gun for around 150,000, and everyone else folded.
Harry Sandford: K♥10♠
Uwe Behrendt: 10♣10♥
Sandford was crushed, but although the ten was in the window on the 10♦8♠2♠ flop, after the 7♠ turn, Sandford still had outs to the flush.
However the 7♣ river improved Norocel to a full house and brings about the bubble.
In the 888th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna England talk about a WSOP gold bracelet while out on bail, who recently pleaded guilty to intent to commit murder against his wife. It's a sad tale, but the victim is now openly sharing her tale of survival and the horrific aftermath.
The crew then talks about Maurice Hawkins, who has yet to address the $100K+ judgment against him despite racking up wins and big paydays, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the new poker room slated to open next month at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Other stories include the second-largest Bad Beat Jackpot in history being hit, recent tournament winners including Christian Harder and from the Irish Poker Open, and another edition of New Vlogs on the Block featuring JW Wilder’s Parody Poker.
Finally, given it's the 888th episode of the show, it only made sense to celebrate 888poker. As such, Chad sat down with 888poker Ambassador Nick Eastwood, who has established himself as one of the industry's premier content producers.

A pot of around 240,000 had developed by the turn on a board of J♥10♦4♦9♦, in a hand between Boban Stevanovic in the big blind and Ferry Janssen under the gun.
Boban Stevanovic jammed the turn with the covering stack, and after quite a bit of thought, Janssen folded.
Steven Penney was all-in for 94,000 and at risk versus Ferry Janssen.
Steven Penney: 9♣9♠
Ferry Janssen: Q♥Q♣
Penney was dominated and looked to be heading to the exit on the bubble after the 10♠8♠3♣ flop.
However the A♠ turn gave him outs to the flush, and the 3♠ rolled off on the river to send Penney the double-up.
“I can tell you all enjoyed that” smiled Penney, as the river was met with deathly silence from his opponents, and the players craning for a view from the other table.
A pot of 68,000 had developed, with the completed board reading A♦5♣5♦2♥J♥, in a hand between David Leger in early position and Bob Jansen in the big blind.
Jansen check-called a bet of 75,000 from Leger, and was shown the bad news when Leger tabled J♦J♠ for the rivered set.
The Portomaso Casino in sunny St Julian's was a hive of activity today, as the Malta Poker Festival started to get into full swing.
Along with Day 2 of the PokerNews Championship, Day 1b of the €550 Grand Event was the main attraction. After a two-hour bubble, 12 players progressed from the 82 entrants, with play concluding with 17 minutes left in Level 16. They join 24 qualifiers from Day 1a.
Frenchman Ludovic Uzan bagged a huge stack of 1,412,000 to take the overall chip lead - over double that of his closest challengers in Day 1b, Boban Stevanovic of Serbia (674,000) and Brit Alexander Maskell (477,000).
Uzan was among the chip leaders for the entire day, and started to gather real momentum after going runner-runner for quads to bust Yvonne Fuge. From there he only added to his stack, leveraging it expertly on the bubble to rake in pots.
Uzan boasts recorded cashes of $138,541, and clearly enjoys the Malta Poker Festival, finishing seventh in the Grand Event in April last year for $16,000 - his third biggest score.
Johannes-Herald Stephan was the unfortunate player to exit on the bubble, his pocket eights being usurped on the turn by Maskell.

PokerNews ambassador Lukas Robinson was also among the players to hit the rail in Day 1b, and he'll be sure to be on the hunt for a bag for Day 2 in the five remaining flights.
