Herzali Disappears

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Sarah Herzali entered the tournament maybe 10 minutes ago and that was not even enough time to take a picture. Just now she walked out of the tournament room, her seat was empty. Ayoub Khlifi was one seat over and followed straight away to make it two seat open in a row.

Almost 200 Entries

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Out of the 197 entries, 48 consist of reentries and latest players in need of purchasing another bullet (again) included Rodrigo Strong, Guillaume Diaz, Smain Mamouni and Thierry Gogniat. Less than one hour remains until the dinner break at the end of level nine and that is also the cut for the end of registration.

Boatman Shows Bluff

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Four players in total invested 2,500 chips to see a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Ekrem Sanioglu then bet from the hijack for 6,000. Only Barny Boatman called before both players checked down the {8-Spades} turn. On the {J-Spades} river, Sanioglu checked and Boatman then bet 15,000.

"Enjoy", Sanioglu said to his opponent before openly mucking {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, Boatman returned the favor and revealed {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a busted flush draw before grabbing the chips.

Pirault in Trouble

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Chip leader Selim Oulmekki raised from under the gun and picked up three callers to see a flop of {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Zakaria then bet 2,000 and two opponents called, Oulmekki folded. On the {3-Clubs} turn, the action was checked to Zakaria and his 3,000 was only called by Pirault. The {3-Diamonds} river paired the board for the second time and Pirault checked, then faced the bet worth 11,000 by Zakaria.

That was more than what the Frenchman had left and Pirault ended up folding.

Easy Game for Kinany

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

After a raise to 1,800 from under the gun and two callers, Hafid Kinany squeezed to 5,200 out of the small blind and the initial raiser folded. Both other players called and Kinany's continuation bet worth 8,000 on the {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop got through without any further resistance.

Aiach Loses a Small Pot

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Merlow Aiach defended his big blind against the raise of Mouad and check-called one bet before the duo then checked down the {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board. Aiach announced "nothing" and showed {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a busted gutshot whereas Mouad's {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} claimed the small pot.

Oulmekki New Chip Leader

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Selim Oulmekki
Selim Oulmekki

It was Selim Oulmekki who busted Rebecca Gerin not long ago and increased his stack nicely. The Frenchman flopped a set of kings on {K-}{7-}{6-Clubs} and Gerin then check-raised all in for just under average stack on the {10-Spades} turn with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a huge draw. However, the river blanked and that sent Gerin to the rail.

Three Going Up

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Isabel Baltazar, Paul-Francois Tedeschi and Cheng-Wei Yin have all been able to increase their stack. Especially the Belgian received the image as constant aggressor at his table and raising before then calling a three-bet with {5-}{2-} surely does qualify for that.

Yin then found a flop of {5-}{3-}{2-} for two pair, but two diamonds also put a flush draw on the board. Yin bet 3,000 and called a raise to 15,000 before the {6-} on the turn saw his opponent get it in with {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the draw. Yin's two pair held up and that was the biggest pot as of late for the Belgian.

Pont Takes from Sgorrano

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jerome Sgorrano tried to take down a three-way pot on the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} river with a bet of 3,600 into about twice as much in the middle of the table. Two seats over, Pont eventually called after plenty of consideration and then revealed {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} as winning hand to let the Belgian drop a few chips.
