El Yousfi and Marijo Stacked

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Said El Yousfi of Switzerland is sitting behind a very healthy stack of six digits and the biggest hand saw him flop an open-ended straight draw with {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to complete a straight on the turn. The same {K-} gave the player in seat one a set of kings and the river bricked.

El Yousfi is not the current chip leader though, that honor belongs to "Marijo" from Spain.

Lob Back In

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

After the big clash with Anas Tadini, Joachim Lob was left rather short but the Frenchman is back above average. He called a bet of 2,100 on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} turn whereas Tadini check-folded from the small blind. The {10-Clubs} river then saw the player in the big blind bet 5,000 and Lob tank-called with {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} to scoop the pot against the bluff {K-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Four Levels Remain to Join the Action

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With the start of level six, the tournament screen shows a total of 160 entries and there are already 24 reentries included. Late registration as well as the reentry period last until the end of level nine however, so all players that had been running out of chips until this point may jump back in with a fresh stack of 30,000 chips.

Janin Doubles

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

After a raise and the shove of Gregory Janin for 4,925, Smain Mamouni just flat-called on his second bullet out of the big blind with the initial raiser getting out of the way. Janin had the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and faced Mamouni's {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. On the {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Janin left his chair while fearing the worst, but both the {Q-Hearts} turn and {3-Clubs} river blanked.

Rodrigues Wins with Jack High

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

[Removed:445] put his last hopes on {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush draw and Anthony Rodrigues held {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} as initial raiser from under the gun, also finding a flush draw himself. The third player in the hand got out of the way and the nine-high board bricked for both players to see Rodrigues win the pot with jack-high.

Also out: Paul-Francois Tedeschi on his first bullet and Guillaume Darcourt on his third bullet.

Strong and Mamouni Among Casualties

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Cheng-Wei Yin and Houssine El Otmani were among the bustouts early on but opted to reenter already whereas Rodrigo Strong and Smain Mamouni were just sent to the rail.

Kinany Busts Sanioglu

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

On the three-way flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Hafid Kinany bet 2,500 and the initial raiser folded ace-king whereas Ekrem Sanioglu then squeezed to 7,000. Kinany gave it a lot of thought before making the call and then faced the shove of his opponent on the {2-Hearts} turn.

Kinany called with {A-}{10-}, putting Sanioglu on a flush draw, but that wasn't even the case with Sanoiglu only having a three in his hand. The {7-Clubs} river was a blank and the pot was shipped to Kinany.

More than 20 players have already been eliminated and the reentry count is now at 19.

Almost 150 Entries

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

As predicted, the field size has increased further and among those to join the field were Paul-Francois Tedeschi as well as Malek Grabsi. Of the 146 entries, 16 players are on their second (or even third) bullet, though.

Sgorrano is Not Amused

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The overly aggressive playing style on his table just caused Jerome Sgorrano to look up his table neighbor Luigi Macaluso for 13,475 chips on the flop {Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} with {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Macaluso was at risk with the {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for ace-high only, but got there on the {9-Hearts} turn. The {5-Hearts} river was a blank and Sgorrano was not quite amused, also telling friends on tables nearby what happened.
