No Magic for Marijo

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Marijo
Marijo

The remaining stack of Marijo went in before the flop with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Mathieu Papineau looked him up from two seats over with the superior {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

The flop {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} was causing some uproar, as players from other tables had gathered around to see what was going on. However, the {Q-Hearts} turn restored the preflop order and the {10-Hearts} river blanked to bust Marijo.

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A look at the Shorter Stacks

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Cocozza Gets Some Back

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

In a battle small blind versus button, Saverio Cocozza flopped two pair with {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and got value from initial raiser Ekrem Sanioglu on a board of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades} to even out the stacks. Said El Yousfi is one table over and has about the same amount of chips, too.

Expect the action to slow down on the full-ring tables, as the money bubble is only a few spots away.

Lopes and El Otmani Gone

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Carlos Lopes
Carlos Lopes

After losing more than half of his stack to Sonny Franco and then shoved for 15 big blinds with the {A-}{J-} from the cutoff. Sure enough Franco woke up with kings in the big blind and also took the remainder of Lopes' chips.

Shortly after, Houcine El Otmani lost his last four big blinds and at 32 players left, the field was balanced at the last four tables. There is no redraw, but the dealers will announce all in and call from now as we approach the money.

Cocozza Folds the Same Hand

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Fahd opened to 9,500 and Ekrem Sanioglu called on the button before the action reached Saverio Cocozza. He three-bet to 37,000 and Michael van der Ghinst called that out of the big blind. Fahd reluctantly folded, as did Sanioglu.

On the {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, Cocozza led for 30,000 and van der Ghinst them jammed his chip tower .... . The Italian tanked for ages on almost even stack and folded to show {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, van der Ghinst flashed the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Lopes Loses Flip to Franco

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

It was a flip for the tournament life of Sonny Franco and the Frenchman was at risk for 85,000 with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Carlos Lopes put him at risk with the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} but failed to hold up after a board of {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Clubs} to drop to 15 big blinds.

Gael Callige

Gael Callige opened and then four-bet shoved for approximately 100,000 chips with the {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} only to see Andre Miquel Ramalho Fonseca look him up with the ace-queen.

Neither diamond, five or king showed up on the board and the pot was shipped to the Portuguese to reduce the field to it's last 34 participants.
