Leathem Busts in 28th

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Andrew Leathem
Andrew Leathem

Andrew Leathem had previously doubled on the feature table and left Steven van Zadelhoff short. Now he faced the raise of Makarios Avramidis to 13,000. Leathem three-bet to 29,000 and Avramidis four-bet to 47,000 before the Scot shoved for 212,000. Avramidis snap-called and that is never a good sign when you have pocket queens.

Leathem: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Avramidis: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The board {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave the Greek a full house and there is now a brief interruption of the action when the last three tables get balanced.

All You can Shove

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ruben Visser moved in plenty of times to steal the blinds and then got a bit of his own medicine. The defending Main Event champion raised to 14,000 and Jussi Nevanlinna moved all in for 226,000 from one seat over. The entire table including Visser folded, though the Dutchman is still up for the day.

The Bustout of Anton Wigg

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

Over on the feature table, Makarios Avramidis opened to 15,000 and Tobias Peters called before Anton Wigg shoved in the blinds for 70,000. Both Avramidis and Peters called to see the flop of {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Peters isolated successfully and then showed the {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Wigg's hopes of a comeback with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} were reduced to two outs only.

The {2-Hearts} turn and the {9-Hearts} river both blanked and Wigg took 30th place.

De Jong Busts

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Willem de Jong
Willem de Jong

First Willem de Jong lost most of his chips with pocket queens against the pocket aces of Clyde Tjauw Foe. Then, the Dutchman three-bet shoved his remaining short stack with {J-Spades}{10-Spades} into the raise of Joep van den Bijgaart. The latter held {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and found an ace on the flop, de Jong was drawing dead on the turn.

The old-fashioned limp-Shove

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna limped from the small blind and Johan Verhagen raised to 21,000 out of the big blind. Nevanlinna moved all in for just under 200,000 chips and that enforced a fold from Verhagen.

Peters Doubles on Feature Table

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Tobias Peters was all in and at risk with ace-queen and Anton Wigg had looked him up with {A-}{J-}. The roller coaster board of {10-}{2-}{3-}{J-}{K-} ensured the win for the better hand preflop and now Wigg is among the shortest stacks in the field.

Zisimopoulos Busts Hendriks

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Rob Hendriks
Rob Hendriks

[Removed:172] opened the action with a raise and Georgios Zisimopoulos three-bet from two seats over. Rob Hendriks then moved all in for what looked like 100,000 out of the big blind to enforce a fold from Kramer. Zisimopoulos called with {A-Spades}{6-Hearts} and only had one over card to the {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} of Hendriks.

Sure enough the {A-Hearts} appeared right in the window and the rest of the board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Verhagen More Than Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna raised to 15,000 and picked up two callers in Johan Verhagen as well as Ilan Boujenah in the big blind. The latter bet the {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop for 23,000 and Nevanlinna raised to 63,000. Verhagen shoved for 144,000 and Boujenah called before Nevanlinna went into the think tank.

"I just don't want to see eights and five-six there," the Finn said and eventually folded.

Boujenah: {K-Spades}{8-Spades}
Verhagen: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Both the {9-Hearts} turn and {K-Hearts} river blanked and that gave Verhagen a big boost to his stack.

De Korver Cracks Emo's Queens

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Wim Emo
Wim Emo

Wim Emo opened and then called the three-bet of Pieter de Korver in the big blind, who had squeezed to 33,000 without checking his cards. On the {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, de Korver continued for 46,000 and was called before moving all in on the {10-Spades} turn. Emo called with pocket queens and de Korver flipped over his {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The {3-Hearts} river even gave de Korver a full house to rub it in even more, Emo left with a big grin on the face.
