The turn came {3-Hearts} and the player who had bet the flop, now checked. De Vries checked as well and Hoedemaker bet 2,700. A call followed, De Vries folded.

The {A-Hearts} completed the board and the flop better checked. Hoedemaker bet 7,575 and after some tanking his opponent called.

On a flop of {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, we saw Ad Schaap bet out 1,500. Two players called, one player folded.

The {3-Hearts} hit the turn and Schaap checked. Another check prompted the third player to bet 2,000 from the hijack. Schaap called, the other player folded.

Schaap checked again on the {3-Spades} river. His opponent checked behind and Schaap showed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}. His opponent open mucked {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Schaap raked in the chips.

Big Bet Poker

Steven van Zadelhoff
Steven van Zadelhoff

Steven van Zadelhoff raised to 500 and he got called in 4 spots; a player in middle position, the cutoff, and both blinds wanted to see a flop.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the first two players checked. Action was on Van Zadelhoff, and he bet 5,200. Van Zadelhoff's neighbor double checked with the dealer how much the bet was, laughed a bit, tanked some and folded. The other three players all folded as well.

"Pick one" Van Zadelhoff said to MacDonnell. MacDonnell chose the left card and revealed the {8-Clubs} before the other was going face down into the muck.

"People allready said you were crazy" Dennis Smit said with a smile.

"Zisimo" Busts One

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Georgios Zisimopoulos
Georgios Zisimopoulos

The player under the gun limped and another two players called as well, before action got to Georgios Zisimopoulos in the small blind. Zisimopoulos, who finished runner-up in this very event last year (€178,616), raised to 1,025. The big blind folded, the player under the gun called, one player folded and another called.

Three players to the flop of {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Zisimopoulos bet 1,025. Under the gun raised to 2,100, prompting a fold from the player in the middle. Zisimopoulos called.

Zisimopoulos lead for 3,500 on the {J-Diamonds} turn and his opponent called. Zisimopoulos, again, lead for 3,500 as the {7-Clubs} completed the board. His opponent shoved all in for about 20,000 or so and Zisimopoulos leaned back in his chair.

He tanked for quite a bit and one player asked for the clock. The brush, who had been standing by, alerted Zisimopoulos he had a minute to act on his hand.

"Ten, nine, eight" the floor announced, "seven, six, five..."

With four seconds left, Zisimopoulos tossed in two chips to indicate he was calling. The player under the gun showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, Zisimopoulos quickly turned over {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for the winning set. The player under the gun made his exit, Zisimopoulos started building his chip castle.

Three Barrels

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We arrived on the flop as Georgios Zisimopoulos was on his way betting 1,700 from the big blind. His neighbor, seated under the gun, called on {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Zisimopoulos bet another 2,600 on the {5-Spades} turn and, again, his opponent called.

Zisimopoulos bet 6,200 on the {10-Hearts} river and his opponent thought about it for just a bit before he folded.

Despite winning the hand, Zisimopoulos is still down a bit for the day.
