Day 1b Started
Get ready to fly at 12:30 p.m. local time as Day 1b of the €4,300 Main Event of the Master Classics of Poker is set to take off. The second and last starting flight in Holland Casino Amsterdam is a turbo edition as nine levels of 20 minutes are in the planning and this will be the final chance for players to try and build up a bigger stack than the 30,000 chips you get for paying the €4,300 buy-in.
Day 1a was the regular version of a starting day with 60-minute levels and it attracted 257 entries. Out of all those entries, 101 players made it through to Day 2 which will take place later today at 7 p.m. local time. Leading the pack is Shyngis Satubayev with 260,200 in chips. He will be difficult to catch on Day 1b as it is expected to be a less busy day. Satubayev is followed by Andrea Ricci, Jesse Liljegren, Paraskevas Tsokaridis, and Tommie Janssen.
A 15-minute break has been scheduled after the first six levels have been played and after nine levels, the remaining players can bag and tag their chips for a few hours. Day 2 will take place a few hours later, at 7 p.m. local time, and players who failed to make it through either Day 1a or Day 1b, or even if they didn’t try either of those options, can buy in until the start of Day 2. Once the “shuffle up and deal” has been announced for Day 2, that’s when registration will officially be closed.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be roaming the casino floors to bring you all the latest updates so keep following along to see who else will be playing later tonight.
