Maugini Keeps Zhugralin Honest

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Although Damir Zhugralin has ascended up the chip counts, Vittorio Maugini had something to say about it in the latest hand. After Zhugralin opened from early position, the friendly Italian, Maugini, completed from the big blind.

On the 'straighty flushy' board of {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Maugini check-called about pot size 35,000 from Zhugralin.

A {j-Diamonds} turn slowed the Kazakhstani player down after Maugini checked, bringing in a {10-Diamonds} river.

This time Maugini loaded some ammo and fired around 62,000 into the pot which Zhugralin quickly folded to.

A deep run in this field would give Maugini his best live score to date, reason to be excited for the Italian.

Evgeniy Golenko: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}
Damir Zhugralin: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board of {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs} was no help for Golenko as Zhugralin made a wheel and is among the chip leaders in the room.

Matafonov Runner-Runner Two Pair Does The Trick

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a board of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} three-ways, the hijack bet 15,000 and with action on Denis Matafonov on the button, he made the call. The under-the-gun play, who had raised preflop got out of the way to take them heads-up to a turn.

When a {a-Clubs} fell, it drew a 25,000 bet from Matafonov's opponent, to which he once again called.

A {10-Hearts} completed the board and both players checked their option.

His opponent showed {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Matafonov nonchalantly flipped {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} over for aces up to scoop the pot.

With 30,000 chips in the middle on a three-way flop of {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Aktag Firat had made it 11,000 after the big blind checked to him. The hijack then responded with a raise to 35,000 and the big blind smooth called the raise.

Action was back on Firat and the friendly Turkish player thought for about 30 seconds before announcing he was all in for 176,000. The hijack took his turn to think, but after a minute or so decided to relinquish his holding. The big blind took a similar about of time before tossing his cards in the muck.

Firat turned over his {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to take down the pot and get a nice chip up.
