Wehrwein Drops A Brick To Bardugo

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

A PokerNews reporter arrived at table 6 with a raising war ensuing. The first action the reporter witnessed was a bet of 41,500 from Yehuda Bardugo in the small blind.

Eugen Wehrwein in the big blind responded with a bet of 100,000. Bardugo fired back with a shove for 256,500. Wehrwein went deep into the tank and was asking Bardugo if they wanted a call. Bardugo shrugged his shoulders and looked serene with the questions fired at them.

After four minutes Bardugo called the clock. With ten seconds remaining of the count Wehrwein threw their cards into the muck and claimed that he folded ace-king.

Wehrwein Busts Two Players, Including Aces

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

After an early position open to 10,000, Eugen Wehrwein called from the cutoff. Action folded to Nikolay Fal in the small blind who moved all in for 44,500 chips. It was back on the early position player and he moved all in for 49,000.

''I guess I have to call now'', said Wehrwein as he matched the bet and cards were flipped.

Early Position: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Nikolay Fal: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Eugen Wehrwein: {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} was dealt and other players at the table reacted ''Oooo'' as Wehrwein could draw to a straight now. Low and behold, the {9-Hearts} turn card was the nail in the coffin for the early position player. Fal still had chop outs but the {6-Diamonds} completed the board, eliminating both players. Wehrwein sits at the top of the current chip counts in the room.

Wehrwein Increases Stack

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

With 150,000 in the middle on a completed board of {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Eugen Wehrwein bet 30,000 from under-the-gun.

The big blind took a minute to think things over and made the call, but placed the chips on top of Wehrwein's bet to indicate that they believed they were beaten. Wehrwein turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and the big blind nodded their head and mucked their cards.

Zhugralin Found Jamming Once Again

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Damir Zhugralin
Damir Zhugralin

It seems like through out the tournament, across multiple days, you can find Damir Zhugralin putting his opponents to the test. This hand was no different.

Picking up the action on the turn on a board of {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}, the big blind checked to the Kazakhstani player, heads-up. He fired 29,000 chips into a pot of approximately 35,000. The big blind made the call.

The {5-Hearts} river fell and the big blind checked it over to Zhugralin who pondered before firing all in, covering his big blind counterpart for their last 90,000 chips. The big blind thought for well over a minute, ultimately folding.

Akartuna On The Double

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Kerem Akartuna moved all in for 35,500 from early position. The middle position player moved all in over the top for 120,000, everyone else folded.

Kerem Akartuna: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Middle Position: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Akaturna was a massive underdog before the flop of {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} to give the Turkish player a full house. The {q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} completed the board and Akaturna secured a badly needed double-up.
