Welcome to Day 1c coverage of Event #1: $1,100 MPP Open at the Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party held at Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Casino in North Cyprus.
Players competing in The MPP Open will start with 50,000 chips and will play until the field is whittled down to 15% of the field which will advance to Day 2 which will be played on Monday, August 22nd where they will compete for the prize pool worth at least $1,000,000.
Players that don't make it have the option of reentering once per flight and if needed they can enter the turbo flight to be held later today
So far 47 players have advanced to Day 2 and have locked up at least a min-cash, with 9 players advancing from Day 1a and 38 players moving forward from Day 1b.
Cards will be in the air at noon, local time with late registration closing at 9:45 p.m. There will be a 15-minute break after every three levels, with the 60-minute dinner break at approximately 7 p.m. local time.
Prestigious events like The One Drop, The PokerNews Cup, and the MPP Main Event will follow the event here in North Cyprus before it heads into the Triton Series where the best players on the planet will battle in big money stakes tournaments.
As always PokerNews will provide all of the vital updates you'll need throughout the event and coming events.

With 6,000 in the middle on a board of , Mohammad Ferdosian bet 5,000 from the button and was met with a raise of 16,000 from Andrey Subbotin from the cutoff.
Ferdosian looked pained on what decision to make. They opted to fold showing the face-up and Subbotin did not show any emotion when dragging in the pot.

Picking up the action on the turn with a board of , Dominique Gabriel was over-betting 10,000 from the big blind into a decent sized pot for this stage of the tournament, of 6,000.
His opponent, in the big blind, went into the tank and considered her options. Ultimately tossed her cards towards the dealer and giving Gabriel good start to Day 1c.

Action was preflop with the hijack, Ben Hershkovich having bet 2,200 chips and Oguz Yahya raising to 6,900 chips from the button. Hershkovich wasn't wasting any time as they made it 21,000. Yahya reacted by moving all in for around starting stack, 50,000. The call was made and cards were on their backs.

The didn't help Yahya and he was sent to the rail on just Level 1. Hershkovich moves up to 100,000 or so, a great start for the Israeli.

With 2,500 in the middle and four players saw the turn board of Saeid Darvishi bet 600 from the small blind and was called by the big blind and button, the hijack folded.
The came on the river to put trip-queens on the board. Darvishi bet 1,600 and got a call from the big blind, but the button folded. Darvishi turned over for the nuts and takes the pot down.
