Elena Yasyuchenya bagged big as she ended Day 1b of the $500 PokerNews Cup chip leader as 21 players joined the 16 players who survived from flight 1a yesterday for Day 2 at the 2022 Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party at the Merit Royal Hotel & Casino in North Cyprus.

They will also be joined by the 13 surviving players from the turbo flight 1c which will finish late into the night. The total numbers of the field was 332 meaning that 50 players will return for Day 2, where all players will be in the money.

Yasyuchenya failed to bag on Day 1a but returned today for Day 1b where she ended the day with 485,000. Yasyuchenya had a healthy stack all day and was never grinding a short stack. Yasyuchenya became one of the biggest stacks in the room when she eliminated Radoslaw Kopec with a straight where he flopped two pair.

Other players who were at the top of the chip counts included Ozcan Barut (382,000) and Celine Zimmermann (376,000); who was also returning from yesterday’s flight.
