Hasan Stuns Ozel on the River to Send Him Home

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ercan Hasan and Omer Kemal Ozel were involved in an all-in showdown for over 100,000 chips with Ozel at risk.

Omer Kemal Ozel: {8-}{8-}
Ercan Hasan: {j-}{j-}

Hasan had Ozel completely dominated with his jacks but the flop came {8-}{9-}{q-} to thrust Ozel into the lead.

The {5-} turn had Ozel even closer to a full double up.

However, the river brought a {10-}, giving Hasan a straight and making the table go wild as Ozel was eliminated.

Markov Eliminates Merzhvinskii

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Aleksandr Merzhvinskii open-shoved his final 31,000 chips from middle position and Anton Markov went over the top, barely covering Merzhvinskii.

Aleksandr Merzhvinskii: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Anton Markov: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

"These are my first good cards in two hours, why did you have to do that?" Merzhvinskii jokingly told Markov before seeing the bad news that he was completely dominated.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, keeping Markov firmly out in front. The turn brought the {j-Clubs}, giving Merzhvinskii an unlikely open-ended straight draw.

Merzhvinskii began shouting for an ace or a nine but instead the {4-Spades} completed the board, ending his Day 1b run.

Chaoui Rakes in Chip With Two Pair

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ali Mehrabian raised to 7,000 from under the gun. Mehdi Chaoui called in the cutoff. The big blind also came along.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Mehrabian bet 8,000. Chaoui called before the big blind moved all in for 44,000. Both Mehrabian and Chaoui called.

The {3-Spades} was the turn and Mehrabian bet 22,000. Again Chaoui called.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Mehrabian bet 25,000. Chaoui quickly called. Mehrabian revealed {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for two pair. While the big blind revealed {10-Spades}{9-Spades} to be eliminated from the tournament. However it was Chaoui who would take down the pot as he outkicked Mehrabian with his {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} to take down the pot.

Radoslaw Kopec opened from the cutoff and Elena Yasyuchenya called from the button.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Kopec continued for 12,000. Yasyuchenya made the call.

On the {10-Diamonds} turn, Kopec took about 45 seconds before he fired a second barrel for 15,000. Yasyuchenya needed a little more than a minute herself before raising to 35,000. Kopec would take over a minute before making the call himself.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Kopec took a little over a minute before leading all in for about 58,000. Yasyuchenya snap-called.

Kopec turned over {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}, having flopped two pair. However, it was no good and he was eliminated as Yasyuchenya produced {9-Spades}{8-Clubs} for the straight.
