Voronin Splits Then Leaves

Level 5 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

After an open by Aleksandr Kirichenko in early position to 12,000, Michel Molenaar called from the button, and Konstantin Voronin completed from the big blind.

Kirichenko continued for 13,000 on the 6J3 flop. Molenaar called, then Voronin raised to 56,000. Kirichenko folded, but Molenaar raised again. Voronin snap-called, finding himself at risk.

Konstantin Voronin: AJ All in
Michel Molenaar: AJ

Both players had the same hand, so they split the pot.

On the next hand, Voronin bet 34,000 from the small blind on a board of A92J2 with already 120,000 in the pot. Kirichenko under the gun moved all-in, and Voronin went deep into the tank. He eventually called with the single red chip worth 100,000 he had left.

Konstantin Voronin: A6 All in
Aleksandr Kirichenko: AK

Voronin called with a pair of aces, but Kirichenko had a better kicker so Voronin was sent to the rail.

Tantillo with Queen High

Level 4 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Fausto Tantillo
Fausto Tantillo

After he won the $15,000 MPP High Roller a few days ago, Fausto Tantillo jumped in Day 1 of the $10,400 High Roller.

On a board of 3494, the Italian player called from middle position after Felipe Ketzer bet 57,000 from the small blind. Tom-Aksel Bedell, who was also involved in the hand, folded from the button at this point.

The A came on the river and after using a time bank extension, Ketzer checked. Tantillo took his time as well, but eventually checked back.

"You win" Ketzer said while showing 82 for a missed flush draw. Tantillo with QJ was also hoping for clubs, but his queen high was enough to scoop the pot.

A Better Kicker for Molenaar

Level 4 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Michel Molenaar opened to 10,000 from middle position and he was called by both the cutoff and the big blind.

All three of them checked the 8106 flop leading to the A turn. Molenaar bet 15,000, and the cutoff was the only one to call.

The 5 river brought no more action, and Molenaar turned over KQ for king high. His opponent had KJ, which wasn't enough to scoop the pot.
