Banicevic Left Short
Level 32
: Blinds 750,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante
Vlado Banicevic was in the hijack when he raised to 3,000,000. Konstantin Voronin decided to defend his big blind, and the 2♦A♥A♠ flop emerged from the deck.
Banicevic continued for 3,000,000, receiving a check-call from his opponent. The 9♠ turn was checked to the 4♠ river, where Voronin pushed in a bet of 7,000,000.
Banicevic spent some time in the tank before deciding to call off about half his remaining stack. Voronin tabled Q♦9♣ for two pair, besting the Q♣J♦ of Banicevic and taking down the sizable pot.
