The board read 10♦2♥5♠4♦4♥ with a couple of million in the pot and Sergei Petrushevskii put out a bet of 1,700,000. John Doeys moved all in for a whopping 5,700,000, leaving Petrushevskii in deep thought.
Crowds gathered again as Petrushevskii used a couple of time bank cards before flicking in a chip to make the call. Doeys was already celebrating as he showed 8♠4♠ for trip fours, until someone pointed out to him that Petrushevskii had a straight with A♦3♦.
The counts were close. Doeys was left with just three blue chips for 15,000, around a tenth of a big blind. He threw it in the next hand. Petrushevskii completed the small blind and Mehmet Dalkilic checked in the big blind.
Petrushevskii and Dalkilic checked down the Q♣9♦3♠ flop and Q♥ turn, then Petrushevskii threw out 100,000 on the 10♣ river. Dalkilic folded.
Petrushevskii showed K♠10♥ for two pair, queens and tens. Doeys could only show J♦6♠ for sweet nothing. He was eliminated in 17th place for $15,600. With that, Day 2 was completed.
