$2,200 Global Poker Championship Set to Play Down to Winner on Day 3
The 2026 Mediterranean Poker Party is now in full swing, with Day 3 of the $2,200 Global Poker Championship about to kick off at the Merit Crystal Cove Casino. There are just 16 players left in contention for the $300,000 top prize, and the event will play down to a winner today.
Sergei Petrushevskii sits at the top of the counts after winning a huge pot at the end of Day 2 to take his chip count up to 13,245,000. He is on track for his biggest ever score after a stellar performance throughout the tournament.
Yilu Yuan is currently in second place with 11,045,000, and is the only other player who has over 10 million chips heading to the final two tables. Yuan will be looking to top his fourth place finish in the NOIR Poker Series Merit Poker Cup earlier this year and is well positioned to do so as play resumes.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Fahredin Mustafov, who has over $12.1 million in live tournament cashes to his name, is still in contention, sitting around the middle of the pack with 5,200,000. Adrian State and Selahaddin Bedir are also still in the mix. Both are capable players who are more than accustomed to making final table runs.

The final 16 players will be looking to claim a share of the $2,000,000 prize pool, where six-figure sums await the top four finishers.

Day 3 commences at 1 p.m. local time with 60-minute blind levels and a break every two levels. Blinds will be reduced as players are eliminated on the final table. By the end of the day, a champion will be crowned.
