Helmut Phung

David Yu raised to 1,200,000 with {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} before Helmut Phung shoved for 4,900,000 holding {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. John Doe, on the button, reshoved with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Hu got out of the way.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Phung didn't get any help, hitting the rail in fifth place.

Browne Bluffs the River

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Paul Browne raised to 1,200,000 with {k-Spades}{4-Spades} and Helmut Phung defended with {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop as the {j-Spades} fell on the turn. Phung checked again, then called with a flush draw when Browne bet 1,100,000.

The {3-Spades} river missed Phung and he checked again. Browne fired out another 2,500,000 and Phung quickly mucked.

Level 34 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Recep Aydemir limped in with {7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Paul Browne checked holding {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The flop came {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Aydemir checked to Browne, who bet 500,000. Aydemir called as the {2-Hearts} fell on the turn.

Aydemir checked once again and Browne fired out 1,200,000 this time. Aydemir, with a straight draw, pondered the decision for a moment before folding.

Browne Spikes the River to Double

Level 34 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Paul Browne
Paul Browne

A hand after doubling up David Hu, Paul Browne called all in for his last 3,500,000 with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} after Recep Aydemir had shoved with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Aydemir hit top set on the {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, while Browne had a straight draw. Browne missed the {a-Spades} turn, but he connected with the {j-Hearts} river to complete his straight and stay alive.

Hu Gets It Back, Doubles Off Browne

Level 34 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
David Hu
David Hu

Action folded to Paul Browne in the small blind who moved all in with {q-Spades}{3-Spades}. David Hu looked down at {k-Spades}{8-Spades} in the big blind and called for his last 4,800,000.

Hu hit a pair on the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop and Browne was already drawing dead by the {2-Clubs} turn. The meaningless {9-Clubs} fell on the river and Hu doubled up while Browne, the one-time chip leader at the final table, dropped down to the shortest stack.
