Yassin Mahmoud raised to 25,000 from the cutoff, with Wim ben Verhaegen calling in the small blind and Aleksei Gortikov defending his big blind.

Both blinds checked the 9♣9♥J♠ flop and Mahmoud continued for 32,000. That produced a call from ben Verhaegen and a fold from Gortikov.

The dealer flipped over the K♣ turn and ben Verhaegen checked again. Mahmoud tossed out 50,000 but was quickly raised to 125,000. Mahmoud moved all in and ben Verhaegen called.

The river, though, was the A♠ to give Karam top pair as Generalov stormed out of his seat and out of the tournament area. His tablemates called him back because it was unclear that Karam had him covered, but a recount of the stacks showed Generalov was the at-risk player and he finally made his exit.

"Hanging around, hanging around," a tablemate said as Mahmoud tripled up.

"I started with 800. But that's okay, because I'm enjoying it," Mahmoud said.
