Shornikau Hits Broadway

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The action was picked up with the board showing J105Q and with around 30,000 in the middle. Maksim Shornikau bet 20,000 from the hijack and Hassan Nashar made the call from the button.

The river came the 6 and both players checked. Shornikau flipped over AK for a Broadway straight and this won him the pot as Nashar showed two pair with QJ.

Niste's Ladies End Up Second Best to Saab's Big Slick

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mihai Niste
Mihai Niste

Mihai Niste started the hand with a raise to 10,000. Imad Saab was next to act and three-bet to 32,000. When it got back to Niste he four-bet shoved for roughly 150,000. Saab called and the cards were revealed.

Mihai Niste: QQ All in
Imad Saab: AK

Niste was the player at risk, and needed his Ladies to hold if he was to continue his journey in this event. The flop of 1022 was great for Niste, but the K fell on the turn to catapult Saab into the lead. There was no miracle river for Niste as the 8 fell, sending him to the rail.

Sarouphim Misses a Tonne of Outs to Bust

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Nikolay Fal
Nikolay Fal

With around 35,000 in the middle, Philippe Sarouphim led out for 20,000 from the small blind on a flop of 984. Zhao Cheng called from the big blind before Nikolay Fal raised to 75,000 from the cutoff. Sarouphim put in the rest of his chips, which amounted to 79,000 total. Cheng folded, and Fal called the extra few thousand to put Sarouphim at risk.

Philippe Sarouphim: Q10 All in
Nikolay Fal: JJ

Sarouphim had a tonne of outs he could hit to double-up through Fal. However, the rest of the board came 57, leaving Sarouphim with just queen-high. He was sent to the rail and Fal dragged in the pot.

Soraya Estrada
Soraya Estrada

With around 45,000 in the middle on a flop of QK4. Soraya Estrada checked from the big blind, and a player in middle position fired out a bet of 8,000. Estrada check-shoved for 42,000, sending her opponent into the tank. After around a minute, the middle position called to put Estrada at risk.

Soraya Estrada: A3 All in

Estrada needed to find a club or an ace to double-up. The 10 turn gave Estrada a straight draw, but it was the 3 that landed on the river to improve her to the nut flush, earning her the double-up.

Habib Picks Off Geilich's Bluff

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ludovic Geilich raised from late position to 16,000 with Danut Chisu calling from the small blind, and Michel Habib defending his big blind.

The action checked through on the 6K9 flop to see the 2 fall on the turn. After the blinds checked, Geilich put out a delayed continuation-bet of 42,000. Chisu folded, but Habib called.

Habib checked again on the 4 river and Geilich slid out enough chips to put Habib all in. The bet was for roughly 170,000 and after thinking it over, Habib called.

Geilich turned over a bluff with A7, and Habib earned the double-up with K8 for a pair of kings.
