There were already around 50,000 in the middle on a 4♣4♠10♣2♥ board when Vitkind fired 28,000 from the small blind. Ivan Banovic was on the button and after thinking it over, he elected to fold.

Alexandros Kolonias doubled up in one of the first hands of the day, but his stack hasn't moved much since then.

Recently, Kolonias opened and Jakub Michalak put in a three-bet to 16,000. Kolonias responded with a four-bet to 35,000, then Michalak shoved 130,300. Kolonias had enough chips to make the call, but elected to fold, which meant Michalak took the pot.

"Show the deuce," Kolonias said to Michalak.

"No deuce," he replied.

The action was picked up on a 7♣6♣4♥ flop where Ravi Sheth checked from the cutoff and then called a bet of 6,500 from Vedat Yilmaz, who was on the button.

Both checked the J♣ turn to the 8♣ river, where Sheth threw out 27,000. Yilmaz didn't need to think for too long before he folded, and Sheth took it down.

Fahredin Mustafov min-raised from under the gun and Gerard Carbo Santamaria defended his big blind.

The flop came 6♥7♠Q♥ and Santamaria checked, then Mustafov threw out a bet of 4,500. Santamaria raised to 13,000, and Mustafov called.

On the 6♠ turn, Santamaria threw out a white chip, worth 25,000, and bet what sounded like 12,000 of it. Mustafov then raised enough to put Santamaria all-in, who quickly folded with 65,000 behind.

Mustafov is up to around 750,000 after that hand.

Nils Pudel is sitting with a stack of around 105,000 after just losing a small pot.

Pudel raised preflop to 2,800 in the cutoff and got a call from the big blind. Both checked the 10♥6♥K♦ flop and Pudel folded to a bet of 4,000 on the J♦ turn.

On the next table, Milos Skrbic just had his pocket queens cracked to the J♥7♥ of his opponent.

The board read 3♣J♠10♥7♣ and the chips went in on the turn. Skrbic needed some help on the river, but never found it as the 4♥ rolled off, leaving him with just 5,000 in his stack. Not long after that, Skrbic hit the rail, but was back in with a fresh stack of 100,000.

The second starting flight of the $3,300 La Notte Degli Assi has crossed the 200-entry mark, with 210 players registered in Level 5 of Day 1b. That brings the overall total to 472 entries when combined with the 262 from yesterday’s Day 1a.

While today's turnout won’t match last year’s 369 entries for Day 1b, the tournament remains on solid footing with two more flights still to come. Day 1c and the turbo-format Day 1d will both take place on Monday, giving players two final chances to join the field before registration closes at the end of Level 14 on Day 2.
