Bezhanyan Wins the Second Round vs El-Wely

Aren Bezhanyan raised to 500,000 from the cutoff and Mohamed El-Wely called from the big blind.

El-Wely started with a check on the A♥10♦K♣ flop, and Bezhanyan fired a continuation-bet of 250,000. El-Wely quickly called.

The 2♥ appeared on the turn, causing a second check from El-Wely. Bezhanyan bet 850,000, and once again, El-Wely called.

El-Wely checked for the last time upon seeing the 8♠ roll off on the river. Bezhanyan bet 2,400,000, and after a few moments, El-Wely folded while showing K♥Q♠. Bezhanyan showed just the J♠ as the pot was pushed to him.

Mohamed El-Wely raised to 600,000 on the button and Aren Bezhanyan defended his big blind.

Bezhanyan check-called a bet of 800,000 by El-Wely on the A♥3♦10♦ flop.

The turn came the 4♠, causing Bezhanyan to check again. El-Wely bet 1,100,000 and Bezhanyan went into the tank. After burning through a time bank card, Bezhanyan check-jammed for 3,500,000. El-Wely snap-called.

El-Wely was ahead with top pair against the second pair of Bezhanyan. Whoever won this pot would become the new chip leader.

The dealer peeled off the 9♦ on the river, causing El-Wely to bash the table in frustration at Bezhanyan improving to two pair to win the pot.

After doubling up in the previous hand, Salah Assi jammed for 1,440,000 from the button. Aren Bezhanyan called from the small blind before Xuming Qi shoved out of the big blind with the covering stack. Bezhanyan folded, and the two players tabled their holdings.

Assi's rail was calling for a king, but it didn't appear on the 7♦2♦2♥ flop. The rest of the board was clean for Qi's pocket nines, as it came 3♦6♠. Qi dragged in the pot, and Assi was out in sixth.

Bezhanyan needed to hit something on the runout or he would be out in seventh place. Bezhanyan managed to improve to the nuts on the K♣9♣5♦10♠9♥ board, and he doubled back up to over 6,000,000.
