Kowal Does Better With the Trashy Hands
Level 4
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Heads-up to a flop of A♣3♥7♠ with around 10,000 in the middle. Sakis Nicolaou bet 5,000 and was met by a shove from Graydon Kowal for 55,600. Nicolau went into the tank and after thinking for around a minute, flicked in the call.
Graydon Kowal: 7♣3♣
Sakis Nicolaou: A♠K♥
Kowal had flopped bottom two pair and was ahead at the moment versus Nicolaou's top pair. The rest of the board ran out clean for Kowal as it came 9♣6♣. Kowal doubled up, while Nicolaou was left short-stacked.
Upon having the pot pushed towards him, Kowal commented to the table, "I can't win with the good hands so I got to play the bad ones."
