Magalashvili Leads Into Sinclair

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Jack Sinclair raised to 40,000 from early position and was called by both blinds.

The flop came 7KJ and Michael Magalashvili, in the big blind, bet 40,000. Only Sinclair called to the J turn, when Magalashvili threw out another 90,000.

Sinclair again called to see the K river. Magalashvili this time bet 200,000 and Sinclair quickly tossed his cards into the muck, shaking his head.

Tavdi Claims Kodinov's Scalp

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Atanas Kodinov in the small blind was all in and at risk against Efraim Tavdi on the button.

Atanas Kodinov: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Efraim Tavdi: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Kodinov was marginally behind but very much in the fight. The {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop kept Tavdi's ace high ahead although the {q-Spades} turn did give Kodinov an open ended straight draw. It did not come in, however, on the {7-Spades} river, sending him out of the tournament painfully close to the money.

Hayek Picks Up Kings to Double

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mikhail Zamyatin had a raise to 125,000 in front of him on the button before Samir Hayek, in the big blind, moved all in for 560,000. Zamyatin asked to confirm the amount before he called.

Samir Hayek: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Mikhail Zamyatin: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Hayek was ahead and in line for a double up with his kings as the {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board remained safe for him to stay alive in the tournament.

Brandi Drills Two-Outer to Survive Near the Bubble

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Alexandru Papazian raised to 40,000 and was called by Hasan Yalcin before Iacopo Brandi, in the cutoff, moved all in for 360,000. Action folded back to Papazian, who asked for a count before he reshoved. Yalcin quickly folded.

Iacopo Brandi: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Alexandru Papazian: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Brandi was crushed by Papazian's kings and at risk of busting right before the money as the board came {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The river, though, came the {5-Spades} and Brandi made a full house to double up and knock Papazian down to an extreme short-stack.

Elsewhere, Tinay Aksoy and Walid Bou Habib hit the rail as the field approaches the bubble.

Ivanov Rivers Flush

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Michael Magalashvili opened to 40,000 on the button and was called by Aleksander Ivanov in the big blind.

Ivanov check-called a continuation of 30,000 from Magalashvili following the {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop.

The {k-Clubs} turn saw Ivanov check for a second time and then call once more after Magalashvili bet out 90,000.

On the {9-Hearts} river Ivanov took over the betting lead, firing off a hefty 225,000. Magalashvili considered for a moment before calling but mucked after Ivanov tabled {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the nuts.

Brandi Finishes Off Papazian

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Soon after Iacopo Brandi's dramatic double up off Alexandru Papazian, the two players again went heads-up to a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} where Papazian got the rest of his 150,000 in the middle.

Brandi called and showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, while Papazian was on a straight draw holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Papazian missed the {k-Diamonds} turn and {3-Hearts} river and he hit the rail a few spots short of the money.
