Akhtar and Poulengeris

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

There has been some banter over on the newly opened Table 4. At the centre of it, Antonis Poulengeris moved all in blind, challenging anyone who had the "bottle" to get involved. It came to Umberan Akhtar and he decided to join the fun, also moving all in blind. There were no other challengers for the pot and the two players spun their cards on their backs.

Umberan Akhtar: {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Antonis Poulengeris: {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} runout favored the preflop favorite, making him a boat by the river and Poulengeris immediately headed over to the registration desk for another try.

Suhail and Kassa Clash

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Marek Jablonski limped in early position and Getnet Kassa raised to 2,600 in middle position. Mohammed Suhail flatted on the cutoff and Jablonski came along too.

Kassa continued for 5,100 on the {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Suhail went all in for 15,700. Jablonski got out the way and Kassa called the rest.

Mohammed Suhail: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Getnet Kassa: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Suhail was dominating with a set vs top pair and the {3-Spades} turn locked up the hand for him, rendering the {10-Diamonds} river irrelevant.

Patel Moving Up on Second Entry

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After an early first exit, Jay Patel is making some headway, almost doubling up on the 30,000 starting stack.

Just now he flat called an under the gun open in early position and was called by one player behind, before the blinds came along too.

On the {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, it checked to Patel, who bet 3,000 and the cutoff and small blind called. The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Patel didn't barrel, giving the cutoff the option to bet, which he did. Only Patel called the 7,000 bet and they were heads up on the river.

It was the {10-Clubs} and this time it went check-check. Patel turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of queens and it was enough to secure him the pot.

Mahamdi Out; Silverman in Good Shape

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Daniel Silverman narrowly missed out on bagging ahead of Day 2 yesterday but he is back in the mix and he has already got out of the starting blocks, eliminating Neil Mahamdi ahead of the first break of the day.

He has almost tripled up as a result of that hand and asked Mahamdi if he would be re-joining the tournament, to which he got the reply "yeah". It is likely he will re-enter after the break, which is happening in just a couple of minutes.

Jablonski Sticks Around

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was an open under the gun and Marek Jablonski called the 600 bet on the button, as did the player in the big blind.

The flop fell {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades} and there was a 900 continuation bet, which only Jablonski called. Heads up on the {7-Clubs} turn, it checked to Jablonski, who bet 2,000. It was called and the river came the {2-Clubs}. The preflop raiser bet 5,000 at this point and Jablonski wasted no time calling, turning over {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for second pair, which was enough to beat his opponent's {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Mahamdi Making His Presence Known

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The most recent player to take a seat is Neil Mahamdi and he has sat down on Table 3. Facing an under-the-gun open from Dante Matei, Mahamdi three-bet to 2,000. Everyone else stepped aside and back on Matei, he four-bet to 5,100. Mahamdi wasn't done yet though, five betting all in for 25,000. Matei scratched his head whilst deliberating before folding, giving Mahamdi the pot.
