Nikolay Ponomarev Eliminated in 11th Place (£732)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Second Platinum Pass eludes Ponomarev
Second Platinum Pass eludes Ponomarev

Daniel Stancer has busted prior Platinum Pass winner Nikolay Ponomarev after a pre-flop all-in. Stancer's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} was ahead of Ponomarev's {a-}{q-} offsuit, and spiked a king just to be sure.

William Robinson Eliminated in 12th Place (£732)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jed Turnbull opened to 80,000 in the hijack, and big blind William Robinson defended. On the {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop, Robinson check-raised all in; call.

Robinson: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Turnbull: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The turn and river brought {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and another bust out.

George Catleugh Eliminated in 13th Place (£591)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Scraping the felt with 235,000 chips, big blind George Catleugh called all-in with a suited ace - {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} - which turned out to be flipping vs. button jammer Daniel Stancer's {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The board: {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and we're down to a dozen.

Robert Watt Eliminated in 14th Place (£591)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Down to dust, Watt moved in with the next available two cards - the {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}, picked off by the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} of Thomas Peggs. No drama, this time, as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

McMurray Puts 2 Million Chip Beat on Watt

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Robert Watt
Robert Watt

A monster pot has propelled Liam McMurray to the chip lead after a preflop raising war ended with his jam for 900,000 vs. Robert Watt. Watt made the call and was (briefly) happy with the match-up: his {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} vs. McMurray's {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. The flop kept the big slick ahead: {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, as did the turn {9-Clubs} but the {q-Spades} river was a game-changer. Watt is now dangerously short.

Connor Kendall Eliminated in 15th Place (£591)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Connor Kendall, short stacked on his table, picked up {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and moved in, only to find Chun Lu waiting with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, which held to bust him.

Two Top Stacks Tangle

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jed Turnbull put Ali Ahmed to a huge decision just now, unafraid to commit a stack of 1,700,000 against the only player who could bust him. There was a bet of 255,000 in front of button Ali; Turnbull had simply pressed the red button and moved all in.

Ahmed took a long time to make his decision, questioning the silent Ali, apologising to the table for taking so long. Turnbull remained impassive, swivelling slightly in his chair as his opponent asked, "Want to go for a flip?"

When Ahmed folded, Turnbull said, "I might show you this once," and flipped up {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.
