Flurry of Eliminations, Down to Three Tables

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Having dropped from his previous highest count of 275,000, Ari Seppanen has busted Ben Davies in a blind-on-blind confrontation to climb back to 245,000 (the cards were already in the process of being swept up, but we spotted {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} in Seppanen's hand, fitting with a board that featured two kings).

Elsewhere, Grace Rolfe eliminated Martin Foord.

Full chip counts coming in the next break (in ten minutes).

Faetz Paid "Strange Amount" on the River

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Stephen Faetz has flown under the radar somewhat today, but now has a stack of what can only be described as a healthy 160,000. His latest pot, caught from the turn on a {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board, saw him leading out from the small blind into two players (big blind Martin Foord and cutoff Brett Angell) for 5,500. Both of his opponents made the call, seeing the {5-Diamonds} river. Faetz led out again, this time for 7,000. Foord folded quickly, but Angell thought out loud: "Strange amount...Neither a bet or a bluff? Blocker bet?"

Angell made the call in the end, but mucked on seeing Faetz's {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for flopped trips.

Dodson Wins Race vs. Griggs

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Andrew Dodson moved all in preflop in an early position open spot for 22,000. James Griggs, in the hijack, counted out the call (he would be left with 42,000 if he lost) and put the chips in, finding himself flipping with {a-Spades}{j-Spades} vs. Dodson's {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} keeping the pocket pair in front and evening out the two players' stacks.

Robinson Squeezes with the Goods

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Mark Robinson moved all in from the big blind for 50,000 after an under the gun open (to 4,500) from Jonny Bowers and call in early position from Stephen Faetz. Bowers thought about it for a while (his stack almost exactly the same as Robinson's) but let his hand go, as did Faetz.

Robinson showed the table {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.
