Ferguson Doubles Through Ivey

Zachary Fritz opened with a raise from the hijack and Andrew Ferguson shoved for 164,000 from the small blind. Phil Ivey re-raised all in and Fritz folded.

Ivey: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Ferguson: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} as Ferguson flopped broadway to double to around 340,000. Ivey slips to about 430,000.

Aguiar Runs Good to Double Up

With 275,000 chips in his stack, Jonathan Aguiar had an excellent-sized three-bet shoving stack. That's what he did from the button after David Fox opened with a standard raise. In the process of folding from the small blind, Scott Seiver inadvertently exposed the {K-Spades}. That couldn't have thrilled Fox, who called with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. Aguiar turned up {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and made the second nut flush on a board of {2-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}.

Bax and Rousso Battle Again

Vanessa Rousso
Vanessa Rousso
Vanessa Rousso raised from the cutoff set to 25,000. Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy called from the big blind and the two took a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}. First up was Josephy and he checked. Rousso checked behind.

The turn card brought the {10-Spades} and Josephy passed action to the Team PokerStars Pro again. Rousso fired 25,000. A moment later, Bax check-raised to 80,000. It didn't take long for Rousso to call.

The river was the {J-Hearts} and Bax took his time before firing out 160,000. Rousso tanked for a couple minutes and then decided to let her hand go, flinging it into the muck. Losing that pot put her down to 850,000 chips while Bax moved up to one million.

Raymond Doubles Through Saltiel

After Derrick Raymond raised from the hijack, Robert Saltiel popped it to 67,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Raymond went all in, called instantly by Saltiel.

Saltiel: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Raymond: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Saltiel was left with just 75,000. Raymond doubled to 850,000.

A Little Slower Now

In thirty minutes of play since returning from dinner, not a single player has been eliminated. More cautious play is the rule right now. Consider, for example, a hand played between Derek Raymond and Elio Fox. Raymond opened for 28,000, then called Fox's re-raise to 72,000. Both players checked the {4-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} flop. On the turn, Raymond checked and then folded to a bet of 100,000 from Fox.

Ivey Hooks a Double Up

James Casement opened with a raise, and Andrew Ferguson called. Then Ivey moved all in behind for his last 135,000. Casement re-shoved, and Ferguson gave it up. It was a race for Sir Ivey's life with his {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} pitted against Casement's {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}. The flop was a safe {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, and the {J-Hearts} on the turn was a welcome sight for Ivey fans. The {5-Hearts} on the river filled his boat just for fun, and Ivey doubled up to just over 300,000.

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

Dale Jamison opened to 25,000 under-the-gun, and Alistar Melville called one seat over. Vanessa Selbst also came along in the big blind.

Flop: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} - Selbst bet 53,000, and Jamison folded. As soon as Melville made the call, Vanessa asked how much he had behind. The answer was around 300,000.

Turn: {Q-Diamonds} - Selbst fired again, this time 65,000. Melville tank-called.

River: {5-Diamonds} - The fourth diamond on the board earned a quick check from both, and Selbst turned over {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for the second nut flush. Without the {J-Diamonds} in his hand, Melville could only muck unhappily. The rich get richer...
