Jaffe Flops a Monster

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Taylor von Kriegenbergh raised before the flop, and only Jonathan Jaffe came along with him to the flop.

It brought {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {5-Hearts} and a check from both men, and the {7-Hearts} landed on fourth street. Jaffe took the lead now with a bet of 6,400, and von Kriegenbergh made the call to see one last card.

It was the {8-Spades}, and Jaffe announced an all in for 45,400. Von Kriegenbergh took about two minutes to consider before he made the call, and it was an incorrect one. Jaffe turned up {K-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, turning a flush after flopping a monster.

With that double, Jaffe is back over 110,000, while Von Kriegenbergh falls back to the short stack.

Von Kriegenbergh Doubles with Quad Nines

Taylor von Kriegenbergh bet 6,500 on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop. Jonathan Jaffe raised to 14,800 and then von Kriegenbergh reraised all in for 53,900. Jaffe called and tabled the {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a flush draw. Von Kriegenbergh held the {J-Clubs}{9-Spades} for trip nines.

The {9-Hearts} on the turn quickly ended things as von Kriegenberg made quads and Jaffe was left drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {K-Spades}.

Jimmie Guinther Eliminated in 6th Place ($42,000)

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jimmie Guinther - 6th Place
Jimmie Guinther - 6th Place

For the second hand in a row, Jimmie Guinther got it all in -- this time for about 13,000. He was working with {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and he was flipping for double or nothing against Michael Pesek's {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Guinther found no help this time as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, and he has been eliminated. With his two bounties from Day 1 added, he'll pocket $42,000 for his work this week.

Somehow, all the money went in on the {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop between Jason Mercier and Jonathan Jaffe. Mercier held the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Jaffe the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and the river the {9-Hearts}. Mercier won the pot and double through Jaffe to approximately 70,000 in chips.

Scott Blackman Eliminated in 7th Place ($44,000)

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Scott Blackman - 8th Place
Scott Blackman - 8th Place

In early position, Jimmie Guinther came into the pot for a raise to 3,600, and Scott Blackman three-bet to 29,400, leaving only three lonely green T25 chips in front of him. From the big blind, Michael Pesek re-shoved for 31,225, Guinther called (having both players covered), and Blackman dropped his last three chips into the pot.

Showdown
Guinther: {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}
Blackman: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}
Pesek: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}

The {3-Spades} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} flop pulled the worst hand (Guinther's) into the lead with top pair. The turn {J-Spades} was no change, and he was one card from the double knockout.

River: {K-Hearts}

That's just what Pesek was looking for, the king on the river giving him top pair and the big pot. After that exchange, Guinther is left with just 5,700 chips. It was essentially a $20,000 river card for him as it robbed him of the double knockout. Pesek, on the other hand, claims the bounty of Scott Blackman, chipping up to 99,000 in the process.

Blackman notched three bounties on Day 1, so he'll take home a total of $44,000 today.
