PokerStars revealed two new brand ambassadors during a press conference at Resorts World Las Vegas on Thursday, both with impeccable reputations within the poker community — Caitlin Comeskey and Jason Koon.
The newest Team Pro members for the most prominent brand in online poker history come from different backgrounds and have different roles within the industry. Koon is a high-stakes legend, arguably the top tournament player in the world. Comeskey is a low-stakes player known for her comedic light-hearted poker player parody videos. She captured the Best Short-Form Content Creator award at the 2023 Global Poker Awards.
Immediately after taking down a small pot from under the gun, Andreas Ioakimides was faced with a raise to 600 from Mario Colavita in the small blind.
Ioakimides took a moment before sliding out a three-bet to 2,400 in the big bliind. Colavita did not take long to let his hand go, as Ioakimides raked in another pot.
Andreas Ioakimides opened the action with a raise to 600 from the cutoff. The player on the button folded and Neil Warren three-bet to 2,000. The big blind folded and Ioakimides made the call.
The flop came Q♥K♦6♠ and Ioakimides called a bet of 1,500 from Warren.
After the 2♣ on the turn, Warren bet out 4,000 which got a snap fold from Ioakimides, to give Warren the pot.
Mario Colavita raised to 400 under the gun, Andreas Ioakimides flatted on the button, Bill Klein called in the small blind, and Neil Warren defended in the big blind.
The flop came 5♥K♥6♣, Klein and Warren checked, Colavita bet 1,000, Ioakimides called, as did Klein and Warren.
The turn landed the 10♣ and action checked around to Ioakimides, who bet 2,500. Everyone continued to the A♥ river, where all players checked.
Colavita tabled the winner with 10♥9♥ for the flush.
The PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) continues at Resorts World Las Vegas with Day 1 of the $10,300 High Roller taking place at 12:30 p.m. local time. Last year's installment of the event attracted 59 competitors, with Jesse Lonis taking home the top prize worth $174,550.
After the huge success of the 2023 re-launch of the NAPT, the 2024 edition of the festival featured a $25,000 Super High Roller, which concluded just a couple days ago with Stephen Songcoming out on top. Given that the $25k saw 60 total entries, it remains to be seen whether or not the $10k will surpass last year's numbers.
