Battistone Chips Up With Ducks

Action folded to Maria Ho on the button who raised to 1,000. She was called by Brian Battistone in the small blind, and once the big blind folded it was the two players heads up.

Both players checked after the 9Q6 flop, which brought the 5 on the turn. Battistone check-called a bet of 2,200 from Ho.

After the 5 on the river both players checked to showdown. Battistone tabled 22 to take the pot with two pair, fives and deuces as Ho mucked her hand.

Kyte Checks Down a Winner

Justin Sternberg opened to 1,200 in the hijack and Jon Kyte made the call on the button. Maria Ho came along in the small blind, as did Brian Battistone in the big blind.

Ho and Battistone checked the 786 flop and Sternberg continued for 3,000. Kyte called while both blinds got out of the way.

Sternberg led out for 5,100 on the 9 turn before Kyte slid out a raise to 12,000. The call was made and the 7 river was turned over.

Both players checked it down and Sternberg showed K8 for two pair, eights and sevens. Kyte revealed J9 for a better two pair to take down the pot.

Both players checked after the 8 on the turn and 9 on the river. Cabrera turned over A5 for a pair of fives, but Altman had the winner with 66 to take the pot with his pocket sixes.

Then Nicholas Seward three-bet all in for 7,000 from the small. Amiri and Olonoh folded, while Garshofsky made the call to put Seward at risk.

Seward was down to just 700 chips a few hands prior, and just double up the hand before with pocket aces. The board ran out Q4282 and the pocket aces of Seward were still best, to give him another double up and a new life in the tournament.
