Action has concluded in Day 1 of the the $25,000 Super High Roller here at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) hosted by Resorts World Las Vegas. Of the 44 runners who started the day, 28 players will return for Day 2 on Tuesday.

Scott Seiver emerged as the chip leader of Day 1, bagging an impressive 799,000. The 2024 WSOP Player of the Year entered the tournament about halfway through the day and steadily built his stack without ever looking back. He looks to continue this momentum into Day 2 in hopes of adding another victory to his resume.

Finishing Day 1 second in chips is James Collopy with 729,000. He chipped up throughout the day and propelled himself atop the counts late in the evening when his pocket queens sent Justin Saliba to the rail.

Shannon Shorr ended the day not far behind in third with 663,000. He ascended to the top of the leaderboard late in the day when he woke up with pocket kings against Samuel Laskowitz's ace-king.

Rounding out the top five are Clemen Deng (580,000) and Thomas Eychenne (528,000).

Notable Eliminations

The first casualty of the day was Richard Bai. He lost a flip with pocket tens against Dylan Linde's ace-king, where Linde hit an ace on the flop.

Jeremy Becker also exited early when his pocket aces were cracked in dramatic fashion. He got it all in preflop against Jonathan Little's ace-king and Little ended up drilling the nut straight on the turn.

Bill Klein was short-stacked and all in with king-queen against David Stamm's ace-queen, but couldnt find a king.

Manuel Fritz fell to David Coleman when his pocket queens couldn't hold against Coleman's ace-king.

Jeremy Ausmus exited with just a few hands left in the day when he ran into Dan Shak's pocket queens.

Day 2 will begin November 5 at 12:30 p.m. local time, with blinds starting at 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante. Registration will close at the start of Day 2, so we may see some reentries and new faces at the start of play.

The expectation is to play another eight levels on Day 2 as this is three-day event. Depending on the pace of play, any changes to this plan will be communicated to the players.

End of Play

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Play has concluded for the night. Day 1 of the $25,000 Super High Roller drew 44 entrants, with 28 players bagging chips to return for Day 2.

Registration remains open until the start of Day 2, so it is expected that several players will reenter and new faces will join the field before play resumes. Stay tuned for a full day's recap.

Shak's Ladies Knock Out Ausmus

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Action folded to Dan Shak who raised to 12,000 from the hijack, which was called by Stephen Song in the cutoff. The button folded and Jeremy Ausmus three-bet all in for his stack of 125,000. Shak then four-bet all in which got Song to quickly fold, leaving the players heads up, with Ausmus at risk.

Jeremy Ausmus: A4 All in
Dan Shak: QQ

Ausmus would need help to stay in the tournament, after running into the pocket queens of Shak. The 42J flop gave Ausmus extra outs. But the 2 on the turn, and 9 on the river were no help for Ausmus, and the pocket queens of Shak took the pot and sent out Ausmus, with only three hands left in Day 1.

Collopy Sends Out Saliba

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
James Collopy
James Collopy

Action was picked up with roughly 130,000 in the pot and Justin Saliba all in. Shannon Shorr and James Collopy were involved in a side pot.

The flop came J510 and Shorr called a bet of 45,000 from Collopy.

After the 7 on the turn, Collopy check-called a bet of 60,000 from Shorr.

Both players checked to showdown after the 8 on the river. Collopy turned overQQ for pocket queens, and Shorr showed KJ for a pair of jacks before tossing his hand in the muck, to give Collopy the side pot. The main pot went to Collopy as well after Saliba tabled A9 for just ace high, and he was eliminated.

Jason Koon
Jason Koon

Action folded to the small blind Jeremy Ausmus who limped in, and Jason Koon in the big blind checked his option.

Both players checked after the J52 flop, which brought the 9 on the turn. Ausmus then bet out 25,000, which Koon called.

After the 4 on the river, Ausmus bet out 50,000, and Koon raised to 168,000, leaving just 1,000 chips behind. After confirming the count, Ausmus flicked in a chip to make the call. Koon tabled K6 to take the pot with his king high flush, as Ausmus mucked his hand.
